Get a vise. Its a great investment not only for lasers. But if your impatient pick up a c-clamp or pliers

This thread may have some relevant info for you.

It is possible the Aixiz module is not right. I have seen them with the diode pocket not fully drilled out or threads missing and other quality control issues. It should not take excessive mechanacle pressure to get the diode in. If you need more than would be needed to use a pair of pliers. Also more than just the thermal issues when your diode is not completely counter sunk past flush you may have issues trying to use single element lenses like the G-1/G-2 as they have to get very close to the diode.

Here is what I use to get them in.

DTR, I tried pliers but when I press the plier screw just goes all the way down and makes the hole big.. Could it be my module? Is $50 gone then? I hooe my friends vice will work (even though it is a woodenn one).

Thanks.

My friend did it!! But it only got to flush it seems plus very little in, almost so you cant see it. Os that ok?

The only way to know it, is to fire it up. You will also know if the diode has survived the massive pressing.

My 1.5W is just flush, and it works fine. I could not press it in further, and I did not even know it's not supposed to be like that at that time.

Tomorrow I'm buying a soldering iron aswell to finish it!!!

I know what the problem was and why it wouldn't press, there was still glue around the diode from the projector - that was the problem!
