I've read about the screw in BEs and it sounded like the weight made the connection a bit fragile. When I get more time to surf the threads I'll post a link that shows how someone used a custom heat sink to helps protect/support the BE. I just can't remember what it's called right now... 12 hour work days are slowly eating away at my memory.

dden4012 said:The stressed member is still the adapter though. If the BE was to get hit enough to cause damage the adapter would give up the ghost. If your concerned about this issue it's better if the adapter gets trashed than say a heatsink that's been threaded for the BE. If something has to give its best if it's cheap and easily replaceable imo.
