Anything helps. I'm curious if these batteries are a better chemistry, leading to the "malfunctions" that people are experiencing. Not to mention 1300mAh capacity when chinese brands are holding over 2000mAh is a big red flag....

Thoughts are welcome too.

Edit: also, if you have a scale that is accurate to a 10th of a gram, please weigh this cell. You can post results or PM me. Thanks!

1300mAh? LOL. I'm only getting about 1/2hr before all 3 Arctic lights go out. Then it takes ~1/hr to completely charge.
Either the Arctic indicates "empty" at 1/2 charge or the battery is closer to 700mAh. Either case would be very possible.

I'm not even sure theyr'e protected so I don't want to go and over discharge one thinking it has a cutoff somewhere.
Just buy a decent battery, I guess. You can get 2X Ultrafire for <$10 or one premium battery for ~$10-$12
 
Thing is, I've not seen a 1300mAh 18650 before. Even if that were the capacity of the cell you manufactured, wouldn't you just say it's 2400mAh, like everybody else?

Perhaps if someone has one of these batteries that they don't want anymore, they might donate it to the cause while I research a way to tell whether these are ICR or IMR...

yes, lazybeam, that's what I was getting at. These cells are either a better chemistry or... well, I don't know, 1300mAh is dismal, even for china....

Again, people wiht these lasers, please post info, pics, whatever! Many of us can actually guess the manufacturer from seeing the topside of the cell.

I wonder how many of these have been thrown away after user is told that their battery is crap?
 
Yeah, Mine cam shipped with 3.7 in it, and indicated 1 bar on the laser.

I use my SoShine Protected rechargeable 18650. Rated 2800mAh

Not yet experimenting issues with my chinese green battery, but I just got my arctic, so I'll use it and let you all know!

Is it SAFE to stick 2800mAh cells into a laser that comes with 1300mAh? I did that with my Rayfoss green and the LED indicator died. I figured maybe the led was over-clocked anyways, and was going to die either way...

Battery capacity doesn't change a thing.
You could put a 10,000mAh battery in there with no bad effect as long as the cell is 3.7v

As shipped, mine indicated 0 bars on the laser so I charged immediately. After charging, it showed 3 bars.
Does your 2800mAh SoShine battery indicate many bars on the laser?

Well, at 3.7V it indicated 0 bars, but the issue, the positive is sticking out, and its longer. So the laser doesn't shut properly. at all. Any good high amp flat-tops?

because I had it in my other 445nm laser for a long time. They do last quiet a long time...I use it for my 200mw green, I havnt replaced the battery since I got the laser 4 months ago, and I use that laser a lot...

Arctic battery is about 6.5mm
SoShine is 6.8mm counting the + nub

TheTeslaWarrior, if your talking to me, no. I'm saying my SoShine has a (+) nub, and its protected, so its a little bit longer in the laser. Not sure if I'll use it or not, I know SOMETIMES a bad quality laser will damage the spring, but these lasers do feel rather durable.

I cant even get over how fricken big this laser is...
12 5/8 oz or 357grams is a bit for a laser too :P

It looks like the arctic was only made for flat tops. Any ones with nubs (even non-protected) dont fit fully (cap doesnt go on all the way)

Any rechargeable protected ones that have flat ends?
 
You will find that the protection circuit adds on at least 1mm, but more like 2mm.

You aren't going to dispose of that 1300mAh cell, by chance, are you?
 
I can provide pics of whichever part of this battery you desire, but through email as I don't wanna mess with uploading them. Also I will be getting rid of this battery since my arctic is dead and even if it wasn't dead, I trust my LG's way more.
