Please Help Diagnose This Battery Problem!!






Hmm... Its good, but I am curious now why these batteries are doing this? Is the driver having a thermal runaway so to speak where the protected batteries "Protected" the driver?
 
Are both the batteries fresh off the charger @ 4.2V when you begin the runs?
 
Well, Ignore the people, but the flashing seems pretty fast dont you think?

If I remember correctly, that is about how fast mine flashed. But, not that I don't believe you DTR;), mine only did that with Larry's batteries so I assumed it was a current issue. Like I said earlier, even my cheap DX grey trustfire 2400 batteries didn't do that. :thinking:
 
Lol they are too good for lasers.

The flashing gets faster the longer I leave it on. Again suggesting heat issues. But only On these!! So confusing...
 
How about my voltage question? Are both charged to 4.2V starting the run verified by your DMM?

Here is what happened.

Fresh:
AW 4.18
This 4.15

Used:
AW Went for 11 min and was 4.07V no flashing
This went for 56 seconds and flashed and was at 4.15V


DMM tested.

Are you saying that they come off the charger at different voltages?:thinking:
 
The AW is protected, no?

Mine flashes at 30 seconds no matter what battery I use. I think my driver is over heating.
 
I know.

Mine flashes only with Larry's cells which is the concern of mine Atm.
 
Sorry I should have quoted DTR. He was wondering why they are both at different voltages. The protection circuit could be the answer.

I thought of that but the Sanyo's that Larry is selling are unprotected. Now if the AW's protection circuit is stopping charging early then the Sanyo would come out with a higher voltage would it not?
 
Not if the Sanyo is under par, like toast, and Kev are saying.

I wish I had a MM to check mine.
