hello everyone its been some time since i posted on the forum and i have made this build over a month ago and i wanted to share it

It is a kind of budget build but it feels very nice on the hand and i love it.

the host was originally 2x AA batteries and after a bit of sanding on the heatsink it fitted nicely.

i used a a linear driver and at first tried it with 2 14500 batteries but it was running out of regulation very quick when the volts drop at 3.9 so i had a better idea as i was using a liner driver,i bought 14250 batteries and used 3 of them in series and a spacer

the beam is very visible and tight

it has a G2 lens and the diode running at 250ma,it has 1 hour runtime with the 14250 batteries and its 115mw :yh:

since i made this laser i don't use my 532nm lasers as this have better green color and its alot more stable in output.i still waiting a 505nm diode for my next build thought

Nice!
I barely bring my 532's outside anymore also. Other than the stableness of the 520's I like the more natural green color better too.

HI DS,
Nice mod came out great and that PL520 set to 250mA is perfect the highest i go is 275mA those are the sweet spots with this diode. And you have plenty of heat sinking behind it also. I still love flash light mods they are timeless in forms of a host. I have two PL520 diodes sitting starts to make me think  Great job buddy.

Rich:)

Very nice! Those pl520’s make for some great builds. They throw one heck of a beam at night outside also. :gj: and thanks for letting us look/see.

I got that same flashlight, but ended up giving it to my daughter. As I recall it was under $3.00, but still had a reasonable amount of light for night use. That is a great build using this flashlight as the host. I would be concerned about the tail switch as I doubt it is rated for the current you are pulling now. Can't wait to see your 505nm build. :D

Yes, those diodes have a nice, tight beam. I've been thinking of doing one after I get done with other projects.

thanks everyone for your kind words :)

hey paul,i think the curent is actually low,250ma is easily achived for any flashlight tailcap,i actually have one more build with the same host(just red color) 638nm and running at 420ma,still works great after more than a year.
yes those flashlights are quiet cheap but can have a nice fit with those round heatsinks :)

I hope the switch holds up for you. Only time will tell. Still a great looking build. :D
