[PICS]New 650 Build ML101U29-25 in Jayrob Pen

Finally got around to building this laser and now to review! Wanted to make a darth vader pen and got pretty darn close... just need to black out the focus ring.

Parts:

Diode: ML101U29-25
Host: Jayrob Pen Host
Driver: 378mA Mohrenberg Linear
Batteries: 2x Efest 10440
Lens: o-like "g-2"
Output: 300mw (will update with lpm pic)

Switch pcb and driver had to overlap which actually added build stability thanks to thermal adhesive!

I love pen hosts, especially that black pen from jayrob- just looks and feels great. I have a 450 in mine, and its my favorite laser. I have been wanting to put a 650 in one, but haven't gotten around to it.

thats funny, i was waffling on whether to put my 450 in this, or my MSV4-LTE from sinner, i opted for the LTE and it is now my favorite laser . Really wanna make a low powered 520 in one.

Christ almighty that avatar is distracting.

Nice build though, 650 is a colour that's growing on me. Mine is supposed to be 80mW and is still dim as anything, probably rivals 405 in terms of "how dim can you get". It's not a bad colour though and it's nice to have an actual "dot".

Nice to hear you have completed the V4-lte I have a 405nm in one and I enjoy it much often lately.

We had a pony apocalypse script a little while ago one of the moderators (spyrorocks) changed everyone's avatar with a pony .gif, iirc it was the 1st April. You had to be there to see it was hilarious. We all regretted we didnt save our's before they were gone. :crackup:

Update! Added a new o-like "g-2" and it's putting out just over 300mw

Wow awesome pen man im jealous. I too love pens and while 445nm used to be my fAvorite I prefer greens and and increasingly becoming attracted to reds. I find myself using my little red pen more and more even thougb its a cheapo.
