Recently I've bought myself some red lasers, since at the time lazerer was getting some great reviews, I bought from them. I ordered my lasers on the 11th and received them on the 28th, 17 days to ship from china isn't bad.
Anyway, on with the pics!
Lasers were surprisingly smaller than my arctic, personally I like them this way though.
left: 638nm right: 650nm
My camera picks out a difference in the wavelengths better than I do, 638nm is more orange than the 650nm, but I still wouldn't call it orange, or even red-orange. It's still red.
Pointed at a door at approx. 41ft away
I now understand why single mode is good. Also, I noticed some spots in the spot that are brighter than others, multiple emission points?
On the 650nm the spot is about 1 inch in diameter 41 feet away when focused to infinity
On the 638nm the spot is about 2 inches long and one half inch wide at 41 feet
Beamshots!
638nm on left, 650nm on right
638nm compared to my 473nm labby
650nm focused in front of laser
This would've been my christmas beamshot submission, arrived a bit late for that though :undecided:
I'll end the pictures with a host size comparison with my argon, 473, 532, 650, 638, my dead arctic, a pen, a few batteries and assorted trash laying around.
Perhaps I should make a picture with all of these running at a time soon.
Due to my weirdness, I opted to have my lasers metered: 650nm had a peak of 216 mW, while my 638 had a peak of 345mW (with 2 16340's which I do not personally have, yet.)
There are two things that I am unhappy with in this purchase: Both lasers physically need to be hit to work properly. Not sure if I should waste the money shipping them back or not, I'll give it a few more days. The 638nm needs to be hit to get a spike in power, hopefully it's just the spring inside being too short, and hopefully 2 16340's will be longer than 1 18650. The 650nm needs to be hit in order to actually start lasing.
Aside from that, the shipping took a while but it's the holiday season, I'm happily surprised it was under 20 days. The lasers feel strong and well built, despite the issues they cause me.
I'll end this review with a link to the pictures I uploaded (41)
Next on my list: 2.2W survivallaser (damn you bank transfers taking forever...)
Also: anyone know any goggles for 445nm-650nm?
