Old thread I know, but burn in really isn't an issue on any display technology unless you're displaying the same thing for a long amount of time. For a start your phone screen is usually only on for a few minutes at a time, and the display is always changing.
Yes the screen will degrade over time, but ALL displays do.
I've had my S2 for over 4 years now and have no signs of burn in. However, you may notice "splotches" in the screen if you look at a really dark image, but it's only really noticeable if you're in a totally dark room, basically looking at an image of nothing, and your eyes have adjusted. I think it might just be a manufacturing defect, so might not be in newer phones.
I find I've never had actually run the screen at full brightness, ever. At full brightness it's almost blinding. Heck I've even installed an app that allows you to dim the screen past the lowest brightness setting on the device itself.
