Just received this morning my new toy :eg:

Here's few pics of the power reading with kenometer lite, more pics of beams etc will come soon

Glenn thank you very much for the service and CNI thank you for the build.

The max power is was able to read was 188mw, will do some more testings soon

WTF? Are you sure your meter is calibrated correctly? That is the most power any of us have seen out of one of these 589nm laser.

I can't imagine what 188 mW of yellow must look like in your backyard at night.
I hope you show us.

apparently yes, because Glenn measured it also and confirmed

Try taking pics of the meter without the camera flash... its hard to see the display.

How is your laser's divergence? Stability? Duty cycle?

it makes smoke on black plastic but it tried to start a brown match (black painted) it makes some smoke but does not start the match

How is your laser's divergence? Stability? Duty cycle?

beam divergence looks very good (like my CNI green) about stability and duty cycle i will test and report it

Try measuring all three of these. These can give us a good idea of what yellows like to act like. Its good now that we have a couple of people on the forum with these high power yellows. Lets get some comparisons going!

Strange how it can't light a match, my 100mW green can light a brown colored match unfocused in 3 to 5 seconds.

strange for me also but I need to test it in better conditions, because my hands are shaking sometimes

What is the beam diameter of a yellow laser? Isn't it the same as green?
