the diode is almost certainly a NDB7875

I had bad luck with their life span, went through two pretty fast. the host is great though, huge heat sink. 2" copper I believe. mine used to house my nubm44, and now it's home to my 465nm, as my sig indicates. there is a dedicated pill for the driver.

the handle can be shortened to use two 18350s or similar size, with a tube insert. naturally with a crazy powerful diode the 26650s are a better, longer lasting choice.

just be aware that the diode in it isn't as sought after as it once was, there are bigger, badded diodes now

I second the notion of trying to sell it on ebay. You'd probably have better luck. Don't put the output power in the description. Instead, just use that same picture showing the peak output! That should give you better odds that the listing won't be pulled down.

My guess would be this has an NDB7875 diode in it, but powers very much over 3 watts are unusual. So, for that reason, I really don't know for sure which diode is in this unit. I have one in an MS-SSW-II host with a 2.4 amp X-Drive by laseerer and two 26650s. It does barely over 3 watts with a DTR G-2 lens. As nice as this build is, I would be hard pressed asking $300.00 for it. I could ask, but I doubt I would get it. You MIGHT get it on eBay, but one never knows.

My point is simply that our overdriven diodes are wear items and that a used laser is used and just like a car you lose value once it has some mileage on it, now if it has a new diode then that adds to the value, for me I don't want any used diodes, I want to get the best they have to offer and wear them down myself, but that's just how I feel.

I know what you mean, but I promise I used it not over 20 times, so its condition is still very new, if someone buy it, will approve my word.

Good luck with your sale. Blord's Dominators have huge copper heat sinks so they could easily be up graded with much higher power diodes. :beer:

Blord always made a good laser, and his Dominators were his top of the line trademark product.
The new $165 is a lot more attractive price for this beauty; I'm sure you'll get more bites on it now, good luck! :beer:

Blord's Dominator was the first laser that I wanted to buy when I first joined LPF, that huge polished copper heatsink screamed "buy me, buy me" every time I looked at his sales thread. :yh:

All NDB7875,s I’ve had reach 3w at 2.4a, Decent divergence on these, It’s not my style of host really but his latest price is a ok, What I’m surprised about is he mentioned he paid over $400 for it if that’s the case way over priced, it’s a simple flashlight mod with a copper heatsink I’ve built many of them and even if the flashlight was $100 I would never ask that price, I sell custom hosts for less than $400, Anyway good luck with the sale!


Well just noticed he only said 445 9mm Diode and the LPM shows 3.5w at 2.4a could possibly be a NDB7A75 Witch would explain the higher price he paid for it, these diodes are still over $100!

In all fairness, even 2 years ago prices were alot higher, and probably even the 7875 was close to $100..

Yeah, I wouldn't mind having the Ophir meter, but currently have too many LPMs. :crackup:
