First they said there was a european limit of about 1800 euro(not sure) and i received more then that on my paypal account - not true. I had like more then 100 days to provide a proof of ID and adress. This was december 2011. In january 1 they said i received 2500 euro limit - not true, and now i cant do anything anymore. So those about 100 days are nonsense.
Today, i received a mail in bad written dutch that i was 18 years Old when i created my account. They take their user license serious and would stop providing service to me for that reason - wich is very vague.

Thanks paypal, tommorow il try calling you to ask wtf this is. I already use paypal >3 years.

Really hope you get your money back. Happen'd to my friend, somehow they found out he wasn't 18 when he opened his account and they closed it 3 years later. I dont know if he had any money in it though. The funny thing is he was gonna be 18 a week after he opened it.

It doesn't really matter... if you perpetrated a falsehood when
you were under age the authorities can cancel the action THEN...
even if NOW you are of age...

yep...if you read the fine print, they can close your account at anytime and keep any funds you may have in the account. if you have it linked to a bank account or credit card they can also take any money they perceive that you owe them or any buyers. paypal protects the buyer, and will crucify sellers...

Its simple...
If you were 16 when you entered into a contract (where you were
supposed to be 18) and the enterprise (PayPal) found out 5 years
later that you were only 16 when you entered into the contract...
The contract would be VOID... even if today you were 21 years
old.
The original contract would be NULL and VOID...
There may even be the possibility of legal reprisal after the fact
for the deception..

It's really not a good idea when you are young and inexperienced
to screw with the big boys like borgqueenx has seemed to have
done...:cryyy:

ok i called and i indeed seem to have registered when i was 17 years old.
I now see that i didnt have to set my birthdate at registering...
Well they said i could make a new account...
And thats what im going to do since the whole world uses paypal.
But...i need to wait for my bank account to be removed from my old account and then i can add it to my new account. Then its needs to be verified again, need to become paypal verified user ect ect ect...

bah. why do they let me make a new account of instead letting me keep the other and sign a new digital contract or something...

lol thats just crap. 3 years after using paypal they shut down my account, but they want me to make another.
Thats just waste of time.

It is a waste of time and annoying. But it is their policy so they can keep people under 18 from opening accounts.

i've never had problems with paypal. they're much less crooked than most banks.

other than deciding what the exchange rate should be to their benefit....when our dollar was above par with the US dollar, paypal was never higher than 98 cents CDN to the US dollar. I'd call that crooked, your mileage may vary.
