this morning, I found among my stuff, this nice parabolic lens :)

I tried to focus a beam from a 445 nm laser (1.2 W) with this lens and the result was a circular dot, rather than square, to the exit. Later I want to make a video to show it better.
I also got a very nice conical side reflections :D

Is it possible for you to make a picture of the dot? (or do you have only 1 pair of glasses like i do? ;) )
This lens is pretty pricey but would be perfect for the beamcorrection in an handheld:thinking:

Btw.: nice find and i also have to wait till i can give you the well deserved +rep ;)

Usually I just find dead bugs and dust bunnies amongst my stuff... Where do you get stuff that has good things hidden in it?

Nice find, wonder if it could collimate an LED better than the shorter type optics...

LOL :D I had simply forgotten to have bought it ;)

yes...give me few other days, I'm, unfortunately, very busy at moment :(... BTW :thanks: again

No stress ;)
Thanks for considering taking pictures!
I have no money to buy one of these so..no problem with a delay :)

First: Don't doublepost..this is bad behaviour! (use the "edit"-function)

Second: huh?
This lens is to correct the beamshape not to focus the beam :p
So you can't "compare" an AixiZ glass lens with this Parabolic lens...
But to fulfill your hopes...there will be a big difference :D

oh sorry for the double post. i was a little tired yesterday evening so i didn't read the whole thread. :banghead: but thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately yesterday I have not had time to measure the beam diameter, but also with the "naked eye" was visible a reduction of the spot.

With the pointer placed at the same distance.

Thanks for the pictures!
It looks beefier in the center with the parabolic lens..
Sorry to bother you, but do you have a second pair of goggles to take pictures with?
Btw.: The flare on the top left is due to not 100% perfect alignment, right?
As far as i can see the beamshape is nearly perfect round..very cool lens you have!
This is already on my whishlist ;)
