Parabolic lens

Thanks for the pictures!
It looks beefier in the center with the parabolic lens..
Sorry to bother you, but do you have a second pair of goggles to take pictures with?
No problem :) and yes I have another pair of goggles for this wavelength but they have low VLT... BTW I'll try...

Btw.: The flare on the top left is due to not 100% perfect alignment, right?
Yes, the lens holder is a bit arranged and it is not easy to align the beam with few time :p
 





For a few pictures the low VLT should be no problem i think..but don't fry your cam! :thinking:
Maybe wait till someone confirms this :D

The alignment is wonderful..no problem at all!
I just wanted to be sure it is the alignment and not some strange artefacts in the lens ;)

no, no only reflections due to the alignment :D

Can you place the safety glasses over the lens of the camera so we can see the beam profile?

It looks great so far! Keep up the good work!
 
Absolute great work!
The spot looks realy nice and round...if the beamprofile looks the same this lens will be perfect for handheld beamcorrection! :wave:

I tried to take the pics with the safety glasses over the camera...unfortunately (in this case) the filters have OD>7.

What do you think, is the beamprofile much better with the parabolic lens?
It looks like but i can't tell for sure..(Unfortunately are the spots in the pictures pretty small.. :()

I honestly don't know, the spot looks better with the lens, but around it I can see some reflections with certain loss of power... I don't know what to advise, BTW thanks for the Rep :)
 
How much power loss through this lens? Have you metered the laser after passing it through the lens?
 
I haven't measured the variation in power... next step :D

One question though: Do you know which lens you have?

Strange, but I'm not 100% sure that my lens is 441. No specifications on the case :thinking:
