Anyone have any experiences with this particular laser? Is it a good buy? How is O-LIKE doing with customs these days? on another note I am new to this forum,as Im sure you can see,and I hope my stay here will be full of learning :D

My first laser was from o like.
Got a box with a laser, charger and 1 battery, no paperwork , tried to look it up and they dont even have it on their website anymore, so im not even sure what i have, picked from advise i got here.
Now, im not unhappy with my laser, then again i dont really know what im doing yet either, so, the best advise i can give you is buy one from someone here.

They are working from word of mouth and testimonials from other members.
Search some here before you buy, ive seen people make lasers post 10 of them here and they are gone in a week. Bought by other members, there are a few high quality laser kits and pre made lasers here to.
Dont send your money to china, buy it here from someone who loves this chit and puts himself into it.
peace

I'll def. look into buying my next laser from someone on laserpointerforums Because the next one i get will be a little more powerful,so im sure someone here can give me a deal.

Some of these guys come off like azzholes and they rip other companies etc but its only because this is their hobby or passion.

There are some awesome build kits that require minimal tools, i would do that first, wish i had. If you get in trouble someone is always here to help, just dont look at me.
Look at jayrob builds or send him a pm an tell him what you want , i wish i had.

I never want anything made in a factory again, then again, im kinda a hippie

Had that laser a while back... it put out 224mW peak, around 220mW stable.

Overall it's a great little host, but the fact that it was underspec was disappointing.

Shameless plug time:

It was not underspec, because they declare it is more than 220mW on the website, and yours peaked at 224mW which is more than 220mW. I do not like their (and other companies) custom to label a product as X power while the small letters say it's actually Y and Y is always less than X, though.

But that's a commercial trick, not a lie. You just have to read the small letters and decide for yourself.

That's where we disagree.

I can understand you.

But let me share with you my experience with O-like with respect to the 250mw red:

The first laser they sent me was even under 220mW. So I returned it, although the hassle and the shipping costs, since I don't like it that companies lie to me.

The replacement laser they sent me peaks at 240mW. This is more than 220mW but less than 250mW. So now what?

Should I return it again? And if so, O-like can say it's up to spec and therefore they refuse to replace it again?

^^^No, do what I did. Stop buying from o-like.

Maybe they will get the message. My problem was, most of my lasers actually came in under even the lower number. When tested with the supplied, fully charged, battery.

I wouldn't have been so pissed off at them, but when I got my lpm ALL my o-like lasers came in underspec. At this was literally a week after I had to send back a faulty 400mW torch back to them.

I love this Laser but unfotunatly it is broken yesterday. Not broken but from high power to low power. Guess there is maybe 5mW left. Strange, can somebody explain to me what happend to that Diode. Never droped down to Floor.

But dead means to me darkness. But the Laser ist still working, just around 5mW instead of 300mW.

Last year they had the same laser but with 300mw power. For 10$ more. At first i loved it, but after some months the diode died :(
I think that this happened to many people so they decreased the power to 250mW.
But i am thinking of putting another diode in it, probably a 6x Blue-ray.
