Found this link, the seller accepted my offer of $400 USD.

Does this look legit to you guys?

On other Ophir 20C A-1-Y heads I have seen, the sticker is in the back and looks quite a bit different. This unit has it's sticker on the top.

See what it's like when you receive it and scrutinize for scratches, screw head nicks, etc. If it works and it is accurate, who knows how the seller acquired it. He's got more than one for sale. Maybe they're just trying to get top price for something they didn't pay much for. Report back what you think when you get the piece.

I just received it from Thailand today. The seller claims it is a genuine product.
There was however $130 USD in customs duties so, I would ask the seller if he could declare a lower value if I were to buy this again.

It looks like the real deal!
I might update this thread once I test the head, if you don't hear from me, it worked fine.
I will also publish the schematic for anyone interested.

Here are some pictures, I didn't realize this thing was so small!

I have cleaned the minor corrosion with isopropyl alcohol. and a soft, clean toothbrush.

Hi,
The Y indicates that the head was calibrated for the YAG . You needed the head to be calibrated for the Visible Light Spectrum that would be indicated buy the letter V . Thats what you need. I have many the the VLS and make sure the aperture has no burn marks or stains it. 400.00 plus 130.00 is pretty steep for a used Ophir head , wish you luck buddy. I may have a complete unit with head and digital read out .
Rich:)
I also have this fan cooled heat sink for sale that I machined

I'm glad to hear that you received what you believe to be an original. But the $130 customs duties was a "kick in the shorts" and probably partial reason for the original price.

I really don't mind the calibration being in the YAG since I already have LPM's calibrated to a Gentec EO PS-310WBv2, and can always recalibrate this head if need be. I really just needed the sensor itself, as I am building my own LPM with this head. I even have my own amplified LPM circuits.

Since all of the 20C-A series have broadband coating with a spectral Range µm 0.19 - 20 (190nm-20000nm), I can recalibrate if need be with the amplifier board. However, I'm sure the differences in calibration will be insignificant for my needs.

Let me know if you know where to find any clean V heads for under $400, but I guess they all have been bought out from members of the forum already..

Isn't this the LPM head Jordan (DTR) uses on his website?

Happy to say this head works flawlessly!

I finally had time to hook it up inside a little project box with a DIY multimeter display. Other than the zero offset which is ~2mW off, it works perfectly!

Honestly, in my opinion, $400 isn't a bad price for a LPM of professional quality!
I would only ask the seller to declare a lower value next time.
Obviously, the seller has no control over customs duties.

Here are some pictures of the final build:

I might re-calibrate the head's amplifier circuit, but for now it's more accurate than I'd ever need.

This is my custom 5mW 488nm laser pen. They will be available for sale soon along with other 5mW wavelengths on my website.

Hi,
I might have 1 or 2 in the visible spectrum range if you need them>
