MUST resist!

Re: Presale - The Cypreus II - 1x18650/2x18350 - A Copper Laser host by Sinner

Sinner do you have any drawings of the other models you will be offering? I think that would help a lot.

They're going to be exactly the same, just shorter/longer from the handgrip. I will definitely post some photos when they are made. Thanks for the suggestions man!

What is the difference between the outer two and inner host shown in this picture you posted in the teaser? http://i.imgur.com/qTl7IDo.jpg
The inner one was made from Grade-5 Ti 6Al4v , has a Copper core and Jmillerdoc already has a $800 diode (1W 520) in it :D

Sorry wanted to give you some rep for these awesome builds and your fantastic service, but I have to spread some first...:( Im seriously contemplating one of these and Ill confirm soon...Your hard work is really appreciated!

Thanks man, I'll be happy to make one for you :thanks:

Are they modular? It would very (very) nice if we could in the future buy a battery body only, and then extend or shorten to "upgrade" our Cypreus II.

Im afraid the physical strength will be compromised that is why I am offering all three versions. And how often do you change the battery size anyways. This is a rock solid design you can run a car over it.

What would you estimate the duty cycle of a +3W diode in there would be? If I could afford the new generation 445s, I would be asking +6W :yh:

Thanks

Re: Presale - The Cypreus II - 1x18650/2x18350 - A Copper Laser host by Sinner

I can safely say 3-5 minutes @3W+ , the heat distribution on this host is excellent, the copper should take care of the 6W+ diodes without a doubt.

Welp, I can't think of any reason not to get one. Put me down for a standard :D

Re: Presale - The Cypreus II - 1x18650/2x18350 - A Copper Laser host by Sinner

One suggestion petters....go for an XL. With a diode that powerful do you really want 5 minute battery charges? 2 x 18650's will run the beast FAR longer than a couple of 18350's.

Cmon sinner....You are really going to make me buy another host? I hardly have any money left...and so many hosts laying around....but...its so purty....

Any idea of how long the presale will run, or what the prices will be after?

this one says it all...

Re: Presale - The Cypreus II - 1x18650/2x18350 - A Copper Laser host by Sinner

I just make sure everyone keep building new lasers. :D

Edit: 7 Ordered, Presale will run for another couple of weeks so plenty of time for everyone to hop on.

Sinner going to have to hold up on my order.... damn you wbs I am currently sitting here putting together 2 old hosts to imagine how the XL would look dimension-wise, haha. The extra $30 brings it kind of out of my price range but still a serious consideration.

30 bucks extra yes. But a preorder. So there is time to find the money :) I have never been happy with a 445 that has a small battery configuration. Search for 2x18650 host and look for pics. Usually about 10 inches long.

Re: Presale - The Cypreus II - 1x18650/2x18350 - A Copper Laser host by Sinner

It will be just a couple of inches longer (arround 8.5") with 2x18650. It only depends on ones personal preference, the 2x18350's will give you a decent runtime at 2.3Amps (21minutes) I have the 9mm doing 3.5W+ in MS-Envy and I never had batteries run out much often despite of extended use.

Secondly if you dont want to spend the extra $30 , spare batteries are cheaper and you can still use a more compact built laser at the exact same power so like I said whatever is your personal preference.

Unless the 6W+ setup, that requires 3.5Amp+ the 18350's will still work but they will only last 12minutes.

Got my MS-SSW-II and second copperhead yesterday, they are sweeeeeet! Man, the MS-SSW-II is an amazing build. Beefy yet elegant at the same time. Quality all around, one of my favorites (next to the custom Titanium of course). I must say Sinner, you've got skills. Both in design and execution. The only person I haven't received a host from yet is Jayrob (paid for a custom C-mount that is still in the works) and so far I am most impressed with your builds. That's not to detract from the others, they all make fine stuff too. It's that yours get my adrenaline going like no others do. You have set the mark high guy!

This newest Copper Cypreus-II is fantastic looking in the pictures so I know in person it will blow me away. I can't wait to get it. The Titanium one is very cool too but I almost wish I would have waited for this one to arrive before I made my decision to mate the Ti with the 520nm 1w.

I am really looking forward to seeing what's up your sleeve for the next design.

Question, in the title MS-SSW-II, what's the MS stand for?

Thanks for all your work for is here at LPM, +'s to you!
Jmillerdoc
