I run mine at 420mA, and that gives me around 250-300mW depending on the lens/module

It's kind of both if you run it at the current it was intended (which nobody on here does) it will be closer to 650 but if you run it higher then it will be closer to 660nm.

Alright cool, so a lavadrive could totally run it, right? Although, the test loads can only go up to 400ma (well mv i guess cuz thats what you're measuring on them) I think. Or can they go over but for short amounts of time? I'd rather not get a false reading of like 420ma and its really 550ma or something and end up blowing the diode. Can you push them up to testing at 420ma?

The first thing is that I just saw this power graph that dr.lava made and I will probly run it at exactly 400ma because there isn't much of a difference between 400 and 420. Secondly, I will most likely order two diodes, but I am not 100% sure on this. If you are one away from whatever your goal is on ordering these then go ahead and mark me for two and I will pay for it. Thanks for setting this up!

not really sure what you are asking, if you mean the rckstr Testloads, well I dont know, I dont use those. I use my good ol' Multi-meter in series with battery.
You can push it up to even 600mA (with GEWD heatsinking), but it gets very unstable after 420mA. 420 is like the sweet spot, the biggest bang for your mA. (efficiency wise).

really 500mA? thats pretty good, I think I'll run mine at 420mA in that case. How many orders are you shooting for before opening up a pay site amk?

420mA with these long open can diodes is sweet. I have one running higher, but every time I turn it on, I expect it to die

Last GB, in a matter of a couple days I had 100 orders, and we went through with it. I had LOTS of PM's as to why it finished so fast, and that they missed out. So Thats why I hosted another one. NO WHERE near as much interest this time, I guess everyone is busy with their PHR-803T's...
If the interest is this low, I guess I will go ahead with the GB (ill wait to see if anyone wants in still), and then from there Ill invest in a couple, and sell them in a storefront type thing for a slightly higher price.
guess these didoes are losing interest.. Cant wait till we find some new abomination in some weird 30x DVD burner in a few years ;D ;D

remember, when people dont support these GB's, all of us cease in a cheap and rapid flow of diodes. It takes the whole community to support these things. Without help, you might as well buy a $23 drive from newegg, and spend all yer time harvesting that sucker out.
