I was going to put this under the "Guess what this is?" thread...
This is one of the first lasers I built a couple months ago. The host is a inexpensive Eveready flashlight I picked up at Target. I was able to find some copper washers to resize and use as a heat sink and secured the Aixiz module mounted 100mw 405nm diode. This one runs off 1 X 14500 battery. Overall nice size and excellent rugged look.
I recently added the new focus adapter on the front of this which works quite well and goes perfect with the knurled host. What is this?
Well...
It's a Lego off-road tire It hard rubber and fits perfectly on the Aixiz focus ring and provides enough tension to allow for adjustment and to hold the focus set. Also provides some durability if you drop the laser to protect the lens.
Anyway, not Earth-shattering, but wanted to share.
Enjoy your weekend.
Eric.
