O-Like safety goggles

They suck. I bought both. They wouldn't even stop a dollar store laser they are so pathetic.

Did you try the $50 glasses they offer? That's quite disappointing given the OD rating they have, and that it's o-like.

Only those two. It could be I got a bad batch, but I doubt it.

There's no way to tell if the laser in this pic is being shined from the rear of the glasses or not :/

I wish there was somewhere to get reliable equipment from 100% of the time without the hefty price tags

I'm trying to prevent what happened last night, I'm lucky as all hell I still have vision in my right eye. I'm not even putting batteries in my 445 until I get safety goggles. I'll buy expensive ones if I have to.

Yes those are them... havnt bought anything from them for about 3 years now so not sure about their
Business practice anymore.

If they cost me $100, so be it, I'll get them. The fact that I have no damage in my eye after taking a 1 watt beam completely across from the bottom left to top right of my eye, tells me I got extremely lucky. I don't know, like an enormous sign. I'm not taking that for granted. I'm getting those glasses and not even putting batteries in this thing until those glasses are over my eyes.

Also, before anyone asks, no I will not make a thread about it. Simply because I don't want noobs to see it and go "wow, he took a 1W laser directly to the eye with no damage whatsoever, that must mean I don't need glasses because he's totally fine!" then having different luck. I was lucky as hell, I do not want new people to think what happened to me is normal.

I have run many tests for blind spots, blurriness, near and far sight, ability to focus (some say things are out of focus after) everything. I spent a good bit of time running self-diagnostics on my eye, and no damage has been shown. I have learned that the harm tends to be immediate, so I feel safe to assume little to no harm down. IF ANYTHING my brain is doing one helluva job maintaining my sight and filling in the blanks.

I feel blessed that I still have vision. I have way too much ahead of me to lose my sight over a mistake at the age of 18.

Yeah I hear that bloompyle! But the ones from D.L. will work just fine and at 25$ they do a good job.

If I get a pair, I'll send them to someone with an LPM first, or set the address to ship them to to their address and get them tested first.

Laser damage can effect your ability to focus? I thought the only damage laser could cause was blind spots...

I've read that sometimes one eye will be out of focus and blurry, or will be focused all wonky and you'll see double.

Interesting... I'll try and find a report of this.
