Okay it's hook up properly now and this driver sucks! At 3 volts it barely puts out enough current to meet the lasing threshold. If I remove a couple resistors it gives me 35mW with a phr at full output. Wow. What a piece of crap

I was considering this driver as well, but I just ordered three of the rayfoss boost drivers instead.

Power it with more voltage. It acts in a linear fashion. The voltage variability will greatly affect the choice of host when using this driver.

Read my posts above.

acts linear, hmm that's weird, jwc uses his with one 18650, I'll ask him later and get back to you.

Or 3V is not enough to get it into regulation (110mA @ 4.5V -- 60mA @ 3V)

Remember, a fully charged 18650 will put out 4.2V

right 4.2V at full charge. Have you tried it at say 3.8V?

No. The small PSU I use for this kind of work only has "switched" voltage positions. (3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, 12)

oh ok, is it a WallWart? I guess I just thought of something different when you said bench PSU.

I do have better power supplies, but I don't have a garage anymore. Space is limited here. I do this work at my desk now :(
