I have a dilda host no driver but i just bought the 405nm blu ray driver
from o-like and my question is: The host uses two CR2 batteries that adds up to 6 volts will it blow out the driver ? It says 3-5volts for the input voltage. will one volt over the recommoned voltage blow the driver out?

Blu-ray diode driver

Input : Voltage : 3-5VDC ;

Input Current : >300mA

Output voltage : 4.8VDC ;

Output Current : 50-200 mA and what does 200mA = in mWs ?

Current regulator :

Rotate at clockwise ,current decreased;

rotate at anticlockwise ,current increased

Size: 10 * 20mm

thank you guys

I have one of those drivers running with 12v...I dont use it very often so its probably very bad for the driver but it didnt blow instantly

I doubt the 1 extra volt is going to be very bad for the driver.

i recommend you use rckstr drive for that.... instead of the o-like...

IMO, I'd go with the o-like driver, but use a different battery configuration. You said 2x CR2 right? A CR2 is size 15270, meaning that they are 27mm long each, so then you've got 54mm to play with. So if you want to stick with o-like's boost driver, you could use one 14500 3.7V rechargable (4.2V at full charge)

I'd go with Modwerx if you don't like waiting: 3.6-3.7v AA 14500size Li-Ion rechargable battery (2 pack) [BATT1] - $5.99 : Modwerx Shop

or DealExtreme if you LOVE waiting:
DealExtreme: $5.64 TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery (2-Pack)

or you could contact ehgemus about a CR2 spacer and just use one 3.6V (~4.2V at full charge) rechargable CR2:

nice idea.. but he has to be carefull with the o-like current spike issues... unlike rckstr or flexdrive...

For the one volt over issue, you could put a diode (or 2) such as 1N400X in between the battery and the positive connection to the driver, as diodes have a voltage drop. Two of them should drop well more than 1V under load. No change to host, batteries, or anything else this way.
