Yes I've done quite a bit of research into it. From what I've read, potassium perchlorate and aluminum is the most stable mixture of flash powder. I'll be mixing it via the "diaper" method [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

OK -- you got it --- stay green :D
I'm a pyro for the 4th of July here.

Instead of flour -- use dairy creamer for the cremora flash.

Yes, definitely  use the 70/30 mix, and I am sure you already know, but that measurement is not by volume...
I have, umm, heard that it does highly amusing things to old TV's and vcr's, old speakers are fun too. If you haven't made these before, take a couple extra steps back the first time you light one off, and wait for the ever addicting chest thump!
For something else highly amusing, can't recall the percentages offhand, but you can mix a percentage by weight of the aluminum powder with ammonium nitrate to create an exploding target to shoot at, though you will more than likely need something better than a 22 to set it off.
Also, just for anyone who might be curious, the good ol' ATFE classifies flashpowder as a high explosives, which it is not, and states that you need a Type 20 manufacturer of high explosives permit, which of course we all have...

Also, I wouldn't recommend mixing up more than an ounce at a time just to be on the safer side, granted that is still enough powder to leave you in the hospital or worse if it goes off in your face.

Edit: Just realized I punched in type 19 instead of type 20 on the license type, type 19 is manufaturer of theatrical flashpowder, while type 20 is high explosives.

Good to hear! Just be careful making the stuff, and only fill your cases somewhere between 2/3 - 3/4 full, as you want a little extra room to keep the powder from compacting and burning slower...

Have fun and keep thy fingers intact!

Well, off to work for me...

Ah, good to know :) Also, IT HAS BEGUN! lol. I'm mixing 10g at a time. 10g looks like quite a bit lol.

If I were you, I wouldn't document the production of flashpowder(especially since you don't have the appropriate ATF licenses). BATFE will be all over your @$$ if they happened upon this forum.

The most I'd post is a video of the end result. There is very little they can pin you on since they can't tell how much flashpowder was used.
