From the pictures, I can see that the host is rather short...

These Lasever modules are large, and also need nearly 3" overall length from back of module to the collimating lens. Plus room to mount the driver behind that.

So it would be a similar set up as I showed here:

One major difference though...

I used a host with a tail switch because I didn't want a host that is constantly connected to the battery supply.

That way I could use a case positive set up and use much better heatsinking direct to the module case.

With a side button host, most likely the host is connected to the battery constantly. Which means that the module may need to be isolated from the host...

That makes sense.. Though it would look prety awesome with the protruding heatsink. Maybe I will just use it for a regular laser module. Allthough they are super bright flashlights too...

Thanks Jay! Green module arrived today! It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be.

I was also really surprised. The beam specs on this thing are really good! On startup it mode hops a bit (which I had expected) and goes to a doughnut shape. About ten seconds later... TEM00! Overall warmup is about 60 seconds. After that I did not notice any more mode hopping.

I'll be sure to post my build once its finished. I haven't had a chance to test the stability of the module yet. But from initial tests it seems pretty stable.

One thing to note. Make sure you guys use GOOD cells and make sure you keep them charged!

The laser driver does NOT like half dead batteries. If your cells are half dead, the driver struggles to keep the laser stable and eventually it will overheat and your output will drop.

With good, charged cells. The laser is very stable and the driver only gets slightly warm :).

JEbus!@ That looks Sweet! and a 532! That's a awesome driver! 5A? I am hopeing to do my own 532 dpss this winter. Still not comitting to a 808 c-mount diode yet.. not positive which one to get they have huge range in price.. I will definately get one with a FAC and I need some kind of corection after the crystals.

If I buy one of these units it will probably be a 473 in the host I posted maybe the red 671nm Do you have any pics of the red?... I like green but I think I can make it and it has been elusive to me so far... so I can wait on a green.

So far, I have only tried the 473 and the 532 modules. Excellent results with both! I'm thinking the 671 will also be great...

Hello there jay , I would like to buy a 80mW 473nm .
May I ask , do you do completed lasers?
I would DIY one , but the fear of 400 dollars going down the drain is really giving me second thoughts...
So yeah..

I see that is quite a sizable module , so I'll be guessing it won't like c6 hosts very much
I'm a complete noob to this... So suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ok couple things...

They are very nice modules, and I do happen to have 2 of the 80mW 473nm modules on hand.

But since you said that you are new, then I will tell you that I would personally consider it a more advanced build for a hand held because of the size of the modules, and the distance needed for the lens, etc...

Meaning that a custom host will be needed. See how I used this host shown in my personal build:

Also. I don't sell complete lasers. (normally not even diodes or modules), but I'm basically a middle man for these Lasever modules.
