So after a month of dealing with the screen on my Galaxy s5 acting weird once in a while, it finally got to the point it wouldn't work 90% of the time. I now have a LG G5. Other than missing a "home" button, needing to purchase a few USB type-C cables a couple higher amp chargers, I like it. Getting use to having the power button on the back is going to take time. Luckily I won't really need it that much since a double tap on the screen with turn the screen on/off. Screen shots are also a little harder. Unlike the s5 which used the power and home buttons to take one and gave a little leeway in how quickly each button was pressed, the G5 uses the power and volume down buttons. You have to press the buttons at exactly the same time. It's a little awkward and I haven't been able to do it yet. Luckily there's a button to hit when you pull down the notification bar that will take a screenshot. It also allows you to edit it before saving by allowing you to draw or write on it.

Awesome!

Same thing happened when I got my iPhone 6. It was weird having a bigger screen and having the power button on the side instead of on the top :)

I wonder why they changed how to take a screen shot from the Galaxy S5 to the Galaxy S6? I have the S6, and taking screen shots suck! You have to swipe the screen from right to left with your hand, keeping contact with the screen the whole time. It usually just ends up moving the page over, or something other than taking a screen shot. I much preferred the home/power button option!

So you can! :o
See what happens when you listen to the sales people at the phone store.

I gave the LG G3 mini a go a couple of years ago.
For those who don't know, I repair mobile/cell phones for a living, and I hate the things. Much like the way many mechanics hate cars  .

I have to say, I COULD NOT get used to the power button being on the back.
Yes it had the double tap on the screen thing to sleep / wake...but it didn't compensate, I hated it and it had to go.

I now have a Sony Z5 compact and that'll do me for now.

LOL. It's more like hating to work on your own car after working on other peoples cars all day, every day. Which is why you see many mechanics driving around in run down beaters. I used to turn wrenches until '08 when the economy really tanked. being that I'm still a motor head, I do miss the perks of working in a shop. Like having a lift, so you're not working on your back!

I used to work for Sprint myself. I was a Corporate Escalation Specialist (Tier 3 call center Lead Rep, highest level lead rep (those people who talk to you when you ask for a Supervisor... they really are not supervisors, or if they are there are "Lead reps" that are even higher than them, had to talk to 6 people before you got me) I also did project work, skip tracing, troubleshooting, training new employees, finance, billing, customer care, retention. (Basically I was the guy who could resolve ANY issue, and was required to because if it went higher than me... someone was going to get in trouble, I was the guy who had to stop it from going any higher in the company by any means necessary)

Funny, I ended up not going with LG V10 specifically because of a lack of a home button on the front, and power being in back. Last three phones were HTC One M7, Galaxy S5, and currently Galaxy Note 5. I'm on the fence on whether I want to upgrade to the upcoming Note 7.

Interesting that a bunch of people here have worked in the industry in some way. I used to be responsible to keeping the POS network running for a chain of ~60 Metro PCS store, and managed an AT&T store for a short while. Personally using verizon, mostly due to actually better reception, based on experience. (Have tried AT&T, MetroPCS circa 2008 was awful, Sprint was very hit and miss.)

I know exactly what you mean, I upgraded from iPhone5s to 6s plus and I'm not used to the button being on side

My phones were that exactly, minus the S5. I hated the M7 after a couple years, tons of bloatware and the thing just degraded in speed over time. But, almost a year in with my Note 5 and I love the thing. The screen size is perfect, it's surprisingly durable (though if I didn't have the screen protector the screen would be done for, but the glass-comprised back has yet to crack) and the pen comes in really handy especially when trying to explain certain concepts to people on the go.

On a side note, when did they announce the Note 7?

I read about it months ago already, and a note us due out based on samsungs usual release schedule in Autust/September latest.

Funny that you ask though because there are now a ton of news articles as of today.

It will be a big step up. Since I only got my Note in November, and I'm still happy with it, I'm not sure I'll be picking it up, but it really should be a big step forward.
