New Member intro

Hey all!

time for the obligatory introduction...

My name is Matt and I'm a resident of the US and 24. I've always loved lasers and found them a fun thing to experiment with as well as useful tools....I've been a lurker for quite a while, loving to read up on stuff here. I'm finally starting to have time to dive deeper into my hobby now and with a little money for once.

Learned a lot of good stuff from this forum and hoping to start exploring lasers more in depth now. Looks like potential to make some good friends here too while im at it.

Welcome to the forum, if you have been reading this forum than you should obviously know all the safety that needs to be taken in consideration when having a laser. Hope you like it here. It sure is a friendly forum.

Welcome to the forums. You will definitely enjoy your time here. Make sure to check out all the Sticky posts in the "Welcome Forum". Make sure you get yourself some Laser Goggles, eyesight is priceless and decent Laser Goggles are cheap in comparison (~40$+). Can't wait to see some of your builds.

Indeed I'm well aware of laser hazards. I already own several goggle sets for various wavelengths. Most at OD 7+

Looking in fact to buy a couple good HeNe lasers soon, and possibly start a few DIYs as I find money. I'll post as I come up with stuff

Yeah i heard about that. getting them used from labs and stuff seems cheapest, except for rare wavelengths. i'm very familiar with lasers overall, but i confess im still new to gas tube lasers, so im starting to dive into them more. possibly expect some potentially simple questions.

and indeed i have been looking around the WTB/WTS thread blord's got some cool stuff up...
