New life for old Kryton smoothie

Help me breathe new life into this old Kryton smoothie. Your ideas and comments would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to tap this vast pool of laser knowledge to come up with a plan. :>)

I did buy it for a 405nm blue ray build.
Harvested the diode from a sled ment for HD DVD Toshiba burners but, Sony won that format war and Blu Ray became the standard.

Man-O-Man..... how did you get that super polish on that Kryton. Simply amazzzzing!!!
Again, I just did not know they were so highly sought after. Now I rely want to bring it back
from the "land of the dead" (lasers) and make it shine again. (pun intended)
