New "laser armour" for pilots

So while some of you think this is funny... I can promise you I would kill you on the spot if I ever saw you point a laser at an aircraft....

If my aviation career is over... I can promise I will do everything I can to destroy the laser industry.....

Dont fuck with my career... safety or life.....

I absolutely hope your aviation career is over. You obviouly have violent tendencies and there's no way you should be trusted with the lives of other individuals. Your career isn't worth someone else's life, and for you to think that is extremely selfish and vile. Maybe its karma that you were struck with a laser.

Last night I was thinking the same exact thing about this numb skull. He clearly lacks common sense, restraint, and basic logic. I wouldn't want a guy with this kind of violent attitude flying my plane for me.

In all seriousness this guy is clearly unstable if he thinks going on to a laser forum to threaten people is the "right" thing to do after having your aircraft illuminated. I genuinely would not want this guy to be at the controls of an aircraft.

I don't think I would abruptly land a helicopter to try and gun down someone who you think is or may be the person that shined a laser on your helicopter in FL.

1. You could very well endanger the lives of others on the ground depending on where you landed that aircraft.

2. Since your talking about Florida, I'm sure you heard about the "Stand Your Ground Law" You probably also know too about the large amount of Citizens in FL that are Legally Armed (CCW) and can also carry in 30+ other States because of their CCW in FL.

So when YOU come charging out of your helicopter with a gun displayed in public, YOU are now a Legal Target and most likely would be shot to death by the person on the ground.

It's bad enough a laser may have hurt your vision, but I'd hate to hear next that you got shot jumping out of a helicopter with gun in-hand screaming at someone on the ground; it might not turn out well for you.

I think you should seek out help from one of the many VA Hospitals here, you seem to be suffering from PTSD.

Troller trolls by posting a topic with an interesting subject, then filling body of post with hateful words that literally aren't aimed at us, but still insinuating that we are the problem. Shouldn't you be talking about the "laser armour" that we all viewed this thread hoping to learn about? There is at least one company offering replacement windshields and canopies for aircraft that offer protection against common laser wavelengths. Obviously helicopters would be at greater risk, I'd assume they make something similar for heli pilots.

I agree, lasers in the wrong hands are dangerous.

We'll see unmanned buses/shuttles/trucks long before we see completely pilotless planes.

I highly doubt this. We already have the tech for pioletless planes if we chose to use it. The proliferation of the kind of online tracking that would have been unspeakable 5 years ago has convinced me that, given a little time, the public can be convinced to embrace any questionable technology.

The savings would be immense for an industry that is hardly solavant now. Means, motive, and opportunity: It won't be long.

Has anyone else noticed that mr pilot has long fled? Rest in peace, sir.

Edit: The savings aren't there due to the technology being largely unproven, and the attached liability. There is also a ton of opposition from other industries... take the insurance industry for example.
