New "laser armour" for pilots

With all due respect, what good is coming from this "pilot" guy only joining the forums to talk down to and ridicule the entire forum? From the first impression he made, I'm on the "F*ck this guy" side of the fence.

Yes I would be pissed. But I sure as hell wouldn't go on to a forum for lassy hobbyists and bitch at them. Like the example I used before. If I was shot in the leg would I go onto a firearms forum and make threats and look like an idiot. NO.

Im not going to say hes not being an asshole. Because he is.

But, as most of you's would know. Anyone that is not a part of LPF thinks lasers are an idiots weapon of choice. Considering what the news portrays them to be.

Now lets explain why I would not hesitate to take the following action....
Land helicopter.... draw firearm.... shoot individual with laser..... kick individuals teeth in..... leave in helicopter.....

So while some of you think this is funny... I can promise you I would kill you on the spot if I ever saw you point a laser at an aircraft....

If my aviation career is over... I can promise I will do everything I can to destroy the laser industry.....

Idiots... dont you have a fucking job or real life other than playing with little handheld lasers???? Seriously? I can think of no worthwhile reason to make them commercially available since OBVIOUSLY this thread shows people cant be trusted with them.....

i will wear these glasses so that I can chase you down in the helicopter and make sure that either i find out who/where you are for a later visit.... or the police are able to make an arrest......

Dont fuck with my career... safety or life.....

but it has become clear that anything that is easy to access become spoiled by idiots.

I now advocate for gun control (I am a former US Marine.... I should be exempt from the laws since I have proven myself more than responsible with them)

I advocate for lasers commercially sold to be completely banned now.... unless you have a very specific and worthwhile reason for having them....

Maybe even the ability to upload to the internet should be limited too.... no more easy uploads or youtube.... FTP only, HTML coding to post... make people learn.. because and idiot with a google search finding awesome dumb pilot pictures just proves my point... people cant be trusted...

And green lasers are more and more common as part of weapon systems now... so even walking down the street... if someone pointed a laser at me i promise i will shoot the source of the laser in a heartbeat......

whereas people obviously see lasers as a toy...

Unless you would nics background checks and 3 day wait periods to buy a laser pointer?

Assuming you aren't trolling, you are very sick and angry person, I suggest seeking therapy as soon as possible. Your repeated statements of hate and disregard for the legal system is disgusting, obviously your career as a marine has corrupted your weak mind into one filled with extreme malevolence towards anything you think is dangerous in the hands of stupid people(when the fact is anything in the hands of stupid people is dangerous).

You seem to have no problem advocating "gun control" in direct violation of the highest law of this land, the law YOU SWORE to uphold and protect, simply because you would have the ability to utilize this right as an ex military. Do you really think the world would be safer with a defenseless citizenry?

"Maybe even the ability to upload to the internet should be limited too."
This particular statement scares me the most, it is very much evidence of a mind without the ability to utilize logic or engage in reason.

Answer me this, would you advocate for the immediate ban of a tool that, when used properly, can immediately and permanently destroy the ability of a brain surgeon to function in his profession. This very dangerous potential weapon, which can be bought at any hardware store for a mere $7.99, is known commonly as a Hammer.

The point I am trying to make is that everything has the potential to be used improperly. Therefore, we must not rid ourselves of the offending item, but rather the offending individual.

You sir, deserve a + rep.

In truth I wouldn't mind a background check and a three day waiting period on lasers at all lol.

Oh please don't go there Infinitus, your comments on the thread about UK police using lasers made me take you for a liberty orients individual. When has government regulation ever helped anyone?

You hit the nail right on the head. Thank you for writing the things I am way to tired to write. Planes have killed more people than lasers (has a laser ever actually resulted in a death). If anything we should be banning planes. After 9/11 alone I demand a ban on all aircraft.

Would you want to give your social security number to some chinese site to do a background check on you?

It seems that people are attracted to breaking the rules set by the government. Mostly because they think its a cool thing to do. Also, they don't have social lives so they try and fit in by breaking the law.

Left him one:p

I am very much anti establishment, but I'm also a realist:(

Fact is we already have week long waiting periods (if not months long lol!).

Would you want to give your social security number to some chinese site to do a background check on you?

Vs a US based company you mean? Sure why not.

If anything unauthorized charges coming to an account established from china would be easier to dispute:p

There is no perfect protection against identity theft if that's what you're getting at... only vigilance works.

So, as a Marine, you swore an oath, before God and your countrymen, to uphold and defend the constitution of this nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic, right? And by your statements above, do you not prove yourself an enemy of the constitution, as well as an elitist prick?

You're a liar at least, and a traitor at worst. There's a reason people like you used to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. Get ready, bitch. Ninth circle, second round, here you come.

You're also a coward, willing to strip the freedoms of your fellow citizens due to random personal misfortune. If you had any conviction or testicular fortitude whatsoever, you would still be a champion of individual liberty (applying a very broad assumption that you ever were.)

The only injustice here is that you were allowed to pretend to be some semblance of an American at all, before chance showed us all your true (bright yellow) colors.

You sicken me.

:p

(That was fun)

With the advent of UAV technology maybe we wont need pilots in the plane flying them anymore but from a remote location perfectly safe from laser beam incursions. Of course the training would probably be an extra $100,000 from the pilots.

One LARGE problem with this. I wouldn't fly on a plane without a pilot on board. Why? What if the technology encounters a problem...who would fly the plane?

Actually I'd very much prefer that commercial airline pilots stay exactly where they are.

I feel far more confident that I will arrive at my destination, when I know that the pilot in the cockpit has just as much to loose as I do in the event of a crash.

That was actually a joke

But in all honestly it isn't exactly safer to fly with a real pilot with all the electronics and computers in planes have now a days. It is mostly the computer keeping the plane in the sky anyways with constant and minor control adjustments. After all it is just a giant rock up there and if a hydrolic line burst or there is a power failure and he loses control not much a pilot can do anyways!

Of course if your flying over a open body of water like an ocean crash landings are going be a major crap shoot as well!

But yea the psychological effect of having a living human flying with you knowing that he has to do everything he can to keep that bird in the sky or he will also die is reassuring.

You just hope to god he isn't an emo masochist, or there is just no hope!

hahahahaha. I don't think they let emo's become pilots. We'd have planes falling out of the sky left and right.

It may have been a joke, but it's not too far off from reality. Probably not in the immediate future, but eventually.

We'll see unmanned buses/shuttles/trucks long before we see completely pilotless planes.

You're correct that there are aspects of the situation completely outside the control of a pilot, at the same time though, an alert pilot can, and often does mean the difference between disaster and a rough landing.

Of course they do! Specifically they are quite common on Jihad airlines:shhh:
