Well I have always been very intrigued by laser pointers and for years have been thinking about buying one. I finally took the plunge on an Arctic and it hasnt been great, though I am wanting more and more to build my own laser now.
 





What didn't you like about it? Generally, you shouldn't buy from WL, but I'm surprised someone who hadn't even used a laser wasn't impressed at least at first by the arctic. Welcome, btw.
 
Sorry I didn't explain my self very clearly. I was implying that the customer service and waiting aspect of things has been quite unpleasent. Still havent heard anything about my laser arriving. I have had various laser pointers through the years just never anything very powerful.
 
Thanks for the welcome guys. How much would a 1W 445nm build run me on avg.?
 
Take a look at jayrob's kits - top quality and a fair price. Once you start building, it's pretty addicting ;)
 
:thinking: You have the bug, but dont really post any DIY laser related questions. You've lurked here for months but have not even bought a $4 module yet. Why are you here exactly? Because all I can see coming is a pile of spam and useless posts. 33 posts of basically nothing in 24 hours. Not a good start.
 
Well the DIY bug came recently...I ordered an Arctic and that's what brought me here. When or if the arctic comes is going to determine how soon i start building my own. Sorry for the "usless posts" been a slow day.
 
Slow day? You've already made 4 threads. None laser related.

Not trying to sound harsh but this place is not a social forum. Yes we do blab, but its laser/science related for the most part. If you're going to spam the forum with useless posts, and threads, you're wasting your time, and ours.
 
As youve now realised there are some Holier than Thou members on here who just like to bitch and gripe at everyone and everything, and not putting anything positive into the forum, whilst being *perfect* themselves. Do what i did mate, put them on block. Problem solved. Remember, other members can advise you , only MODS & Admin can tell you what to do.

Welcome to the forums...Look around and ditch the WL crap, you can build your own and get better results, as has allready been said...check out Jayrob's kits...had one myself and it was first class.
