NEW Group buy for Sony 16X dvd burner diodes...

quick question. would one of those 1 red dollar red laser casings fit this diode? i'm not going to run the diode from the batteries inside, but i just want to use it as a housing, because it has an adjustable colluminator?

no because the $1 lasers are usually just a mounted die bar and not a barrel assembly and your other problem would be that the driver is no way near powerful enough to drive the diode at 220ma just stick to the flash mod and the aixiz module thay are nice!

i basically just want to clear out the whole thing ($1 red laser), except for the focusing assembly, and just stick the diode, with my homebuilt driver, into the $1 lasers case? and power it externally, of course!

Im thinking of selling these. (EDIT: these means a complete laser, senkat LD, aixiz housing, DDL and my circuitry) I can build them for $25 AUD each, sell for $50

SenKat, have you ever tested these LDs for power? If not, can I pay you a little extra to do so? Some info on them (real stuff, not off a datasheet) would be nice. Still gonna get them anyway!

A quick question, it seems like everyone is just using the Aixiz housing and abandoning the circuitry there? Is it not a drive circuit or is that circuit not good or suitable for these 16x diodes.

Hope to learn more from these forums.

the circuit cannot supply enough current to run the higher powered diodes. so you have to build your own, or buy one that will be suitable. Daedal hasd made a good circuit!

PLEASE be advised that you may need 2 or 3 for your own education.

I burnt 2 BluRay diodes ($90 a piece) and I went through 4 DVD Burners myself before I finally got the hang of it! Once you get the hang of it though, it becomes second nature. I seriously advise everyone to get at least 3 of these... Let me explain. When you get 1, and if you burn it, you would either have to wait for the next GB, or end up paying $50 a piece for DVD burner diodes which in themselves are a bunch of crap as we all know. Taking them out is a chore, and a risk in itself.

P.S. I have actually been waiting for the next GB since Dr_Lave had his months ago, so GB's for LD's are not a daily thing ;)

i really want to buy more diodes, as i know it's not easy to make them work properly, and it's vey easy to kill them, but i can't get any more money out of my parent's, i've allready spent it all ;D ;D i'm going to make daedals driver, test it, them mount it, if it gets to that stage :-/

It is $14.50. Price is in the first post. To make a payment follow this, plus make sure the shipping address is correct.

Pay-pal funds can be sent to : Stonergl@gmail.com.  Make sure you list your forum name in the comments section, and it helps if you put in the subject line, " for 16x dvd diodes" or something similiar.

yep, just send senkat 14.50us via paypal, put something like "dvd diodes" in the subject line(in paypal), and in the comments section, put your forum name "quuz" and your shipping address, just in case(paypal has your shipping address anyway) ;) then check if your on the list, then you just wait ;)
