Hi guys, I'm new here, and looking to get my first real laser. I have a few <5mW ebay ones, but wanted something nicer. I've done some looking, and determined I want 50mW Greenie. The only issue is that I've found 2, seemingly same lasers, for different prices -albeit not much- and from different retailers. Any tips on which to choose would be nice. Experience with the companies etc. If anyone else who is Canadian has ordered from these sites, how did it go?

First one is from lazerer:
LZCS - Classic 532nm 50mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer

Second is o-like:
50mW transformable green laser/adjustable/burning [OLV50] - $36.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Edit: Also found this one that looks idnentical
http://rayfoss.com/productn.asp?ArticleID=60

Also, recommendations on goggles for these would be highly appreciated!

Thanks! :yh:

Those *5mW* greenies from eBay you have are probably 10-70mW, because they're always pretty overspec. (Making them dangerous). If you want something nicer, you're going to have to do better than 50mW because you won't see a big difference with your eBay ones.

And for goggles, try Amazon. They have good ones that protect from 532nm. (green)

The companies that you linked to all sell good cheap
Lasers... I would buy from them before I would buy
a Laser Pointer off eBay.

It's good to see you are starting at the low end of Laser
Power. Even at 50mW appropriate Laser Safety Googles
are recommended.

There are a few reviews and tests on the less expensive
Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses on the Forum..

That being said....

Welcome  I'm from BC as well :D

I've ordered from both O-like and lazerer without customs troubles.
