New Antistokes Material IR-Visible Converter

How is the sensitivity of those cards? Roithner provides sensitivity curves. I'm actually looking for an upconversion type, the charge types get dim too soon. Any idea of the type of those things?

I only have the one I got from Radio shack.. it works well in regular
room light and I don't need to charge it up..
The higher the beam power... the faster the surface saturates and
dims... What i do is scan the IR Indicator through the beam back and
forth to see the profile...
Like anything in this hobby.... the better something works... the more
it costs...

If it dims over time, its the charge-up type. The upconverting type gives constant output for constant input, but not very much of it.

Charging doesnt require anything special though, just ambient room light will do that just fine - no need to put them under lamps or in sunlight etc.

The charging isn't the problem (unless you're really working in the dark), but the dimming it very irritating, you'd have to keep the card moving to unused spots to get some light out of it. I like to use the upconvertion types as much as possible, they're not that bad actually in intensity, better than a dimmed charing type. When you need to know the relative IR power, the upconversion is the best choice I think.

Hey EF... Bemn and I are agreeing...

The IR indicator that cost $75.00 is no doubt better than the
$13.00 IR indicator that I use...
But for the purposes we need it for... $75.00 is too expensive for
our shop...

Basically that's all I'm trying to convey...
