Need your expertise :)

Okay So I bought the kit but I still need batteries and a charger. I know Pi mentioned something about an adapter so Does that imply I wouldn't have to buy a charger? Because right now cheap is best.

I also need to know how long I can run this laser before giving it a break in this JAD kit, and also how often I will be recharging the 18650's with the adapter (given) and how long will the charging take. Please send me a link to a good 18650, yall are amazing

I just ordered this battery for it, hopefully it will work with the charger Pi said this kit came with

18650 Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh High Discharge FLAT Top

No that's not what I meant by an adapter, I meant a battery tube adapter, 26650 are large batteries, 18650 are way smaller. You still need a charger. Charging can take several hours depending on the charger and how far the batteries are discharged, if you buy the charger I recommended, you can charge your batteries much faster although this can reduce the life of the batteries. I can't take a guess on how often you would recharge the batteries it depends on use.

The batteries were a good choice except I see that they are back ordered (out of stock) so don't expect to get them soon.

K I canceled the battery and now I'm at a lost again to find a good charger/ battery for this build under 20. Your help is much appreciated

Also I got the key lock thing on the budgetbeams website. Is that an easy thing to add on to the laser

No, just keep it in your spare parts, you may be able to use it one day or need it as a replacement on a future laser.

I don't recommend spending under $20 for both batteries and charger, but if you must you could go with something like this:
Amazon.com: Tangsfire 18650 3600mah 3.7v Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Pair) + Charger Combo: Electronics
Or this:
Intsun® 2pcs 3.7V 18650 4000mah Rechargeable Li-ion Battery with PCB and 18650 battery Charger for LED Flashlight, Headlamps, search light lamp, etc (2Pcs battery+charger) - - Amazon.com
But you will need something better eventually. When I built my first laser I didn't know about batteries and chargers and bought cheap ones. The cheap charger may eventually quit working and the cheap batteries are far less than stated capacity in mAh, sometimes less than 1/3d, but they will work for now.

Okay Champs all the parts have been ordered and here is what the build is like:

XML-T6 JAD Kit - $50.00 : Budget Beams LLC

Key Switch - $2.50 : Budget Beams LLC ---- this is set at 1.8

Amazon.com: Tangsfire 18650 3600mah 3.7v Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (Pair) + Charger Combo: Electronics

Let me know if there are any issues with the build. Also Couple questions:

For the heatsink with this JAD kit, I am assuming I have to unscrew the copper module on the m140 and put it in the heatsink that is included in the JAD kit. And Ill charge the batteries and pop them in the back and it should be ready to go yeah?

Also I really want to add the key in there so is there a guide to follow on how to install it. Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ookay Emergency time.

The people that sell the JAD kits refunded my money, and are not giving me one.

So I went ahead and purchased this stuff

I am using the M140 2w laser with 3 elemental lens.
Please tell me I have everything..

No you don't, you either need 16340 batteries, or you need the extension tube if you want to use the 18650's.

Avatar use the edit button and try not to triple post. It's not allowed and the mods don't like it. Just some friendly advise that was once given to me

No, you can ignore it.

If you build this laser and everything goes ok with no mistakes it's going to turn out real nice. It's going to look the same as my 9mm 445nm build and so will all the parts, so take a close look if you haven't already:

Scroll down and see photos of the finished laser, there are photos for scale so you can tell the exact size.

Next day or two days unless there is a notice on their home page. So it should ship on Monday. I get stuff from them in as little as four days.

Gary is usually real fast with shipping! When I bought my stuff a few months ago I ordered on like a Monday and it was at my door step 4 days later. Cali is a lot closer to him than I am. Which usually doesn't matter with USPS..
