Hi all, so this is like my 2nd post on the forum!! WOOHOO
So I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my problem, I don't know which one of these to buy. Anyone had their hands on these please lemme know.

I need to know their burning capabilities, cost effectiveness and also a quick view on the RAYFOSS situation in terms of Customer service and delivery to UK.

Well, for one, Rayfoss is crap. Don't buy from that site. The first link is a 405 from laserBTB (which I highly recommend). The second one just looks like your typical cheap chinese laser, and I would shy away from it.

Also, please don't use all caps in the title. It is rather annoying, and people will be less inclined to help you.

Ok thanks. I'm sorry I just don't know the 'norm' yet. My broblem is my budget though. I can't afford anything more! :( any other cheap sites . Laserbtb are quiet expensive
 
Laserbtb is one of the cheapest places you can get a quality laser. If they are too expensive , your best bet is to wait until you have more money. I wouldn't really try to shop for a cheaper option because that's exactly what you will get ....a CHEAP laser.
 
You know what you're right. So the average price for a good laser is in the 100 dollar range...Thanks for all the help btw :)

Rayfoss is a piece of trash. I bought a "150mW" laser from them and it was 50mW. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
 
Oh yeah, how was it tested and could you give us your honest opinions :crackup:
 
Sci-Fi may be another option.

They sell a 500mW 405nm laser for $120(which is about $60 less than laserbtb's 500mW 405nm model), and the quality is definitely there!

wow :yabbmad::yabbmad:.. pathetic not many honest good sellers left it seems... file a claim and get your money back i hope.

I agree laserbtb and sci-fi lasers are very good you cant get cheaper quality stuff then that, totally worth it.

The laser was "tested" by comparison with a known 50mW laser of the same color. There was no visible difference.

And how was that "known" laser tested. Btw your test is a BS test and doesn't hold any validity. Unless the "unknown" laser was LPM'd then you don't know crap, just saying. Even if the known laser was LPM'd six months ago, doesn't mean its the same power now as then. Everyone here will agree, the ONLY way to know the power of a laser is with a LPM. There is no relative brightness test, skin burning test or any of that BS. LPM is the ONLY way to test lasers so until a LPM graph is provided I call BS.

I'm not sure why you had to be so disrespectful to me with that post. The known laser was LPM tested by the company that provided it to me. They gave me a power certificate, but I am not willing at the moment to go digging around in my black hole of a home for it.

You know how easy it is to find a LPM graph online and say "here is your lasers power"...........Plus if you bought a 150mW laser and they said it was 50mW why the heck would you accept that. IMO something doesnt add up. Add on top of it, chinese suppliers rarely have calibrated LPMs so trusting anything they say is like trusting a murder who says "i didnt do it you honor, I swear that guy on the film isnt me"

The power certificate was with the "known" laser, which I bought intentionally for a 50mW laser, knowing that it was 50mW. Again, there is no need to be rude.
