That actually got me curious. I'm going to get in touch with the company that does my workplace's laser safety eyewear (urology; we run 120W 532nm YAG systems for surgery) to see what sort of glasses are used for high peak power pulsed systems.

This appears to be an inexperienced kid who has acquired a functional SSY-1 rangefinder NdYag laser. Yes, they are dangerous. Your questions display your lack of knowledge for using this device.

PS: I believe that this device or any components are illegal for export and that explains a bit of the unusual nM reported and lack of photos.

hahahaHA, that's funny.

Nope, these are heavily guarded secrets technologies, not readily easily available in any comercial market. If you need to buy them, you maybe you need to be in the special force.

nope the German OEM is not going to share exactly how their laser range finder is designed or made, we are just end users. Fyi, There are Risk Assessments in our production floor, and we have all necessary Special Production and Tooling Equipments from the Germans. However the real firing of Laser is only usually done in the out field, wheres in our production floor, we only do the function check after production. I am just curious to our end-users, to find out if there is a chance that our customer might stand outside of the vehicle when someone is firing the laser unit. Because the vehicle is protected, not if you're outside, you may not.

Maybe this will clear your suspicious inquisitive mind.
