the green driver runs a lot higher than the phr can handle. and the xbox 360 sled has a 60mW in there you can push it over 100mW though driver boards are cheap enough, $35 total for the diode, driver board and aixiz module to put it all in I wouldn't drive the violet diode over 100mA if you want it to lastDNMEBOY said:Could I possibly build a regular old 5mw blu ray (violet ) laser using the diode form an xbox 360 hd dvd drive and use the driver board from a green laser with an adjustable pot? Just remove the green diode and solder in the violet? You know just to hold me over till i build my burner?
if it says phr-803t on it then yes, some people have pushed it past 150mW and daguin had one at over 200mW for a while. theres another one called the 8011 or something in it, I think it can be pushed to 110mW or so. but I could be wrong on the second one. I've had several PHR-803T diodes last at 100mW for a while and so have tons of members on here ;DDNMEBOY said:So you are saying that the diode I am about to remove from my hd dvd player for the 360 can be pushed to 100mw? If indeed I need a different driver board please send me a link to where I can buy it right. I wanna order it right now along with a new aixiz module.
Thanks alot for everyones help so far.
no 3 prong is blu red/ir is 4 pinDNMEBOY said:Is the blu ray diode 4 prong or 3 prong? I have 2 diodes here to extract. 2 laser pointer red and violet I assume there are, reds usually have 3 prongs.
on the hd dvd player 3 prong = ir for cd's 4 prong = blu for hd dvd's and red for dvd's correct?
