"n 450"

I was thinking about trying one but they have been out of stock on DTR's site for a while now, have you found then somewhere else?

I built one, what did you want to know? Where you can get them, or how the build was and specs of the diode were?

I have built with both the N450 and N465, havent tried the N520.

I would suspect that at 15nm you would see the difference. The N450 would be more violet than the N465. I am curious about beam specs on the N520. What optical power, divergence with an aspheric lens, etc.

If you mean the 450 and 465 very different ;), but if you mean the NUBM44 vs N450 and NUBM07E vs the N465, I honestly couldn't say if there was much of a difference.

As they were expensive diodes and the recommended current was lower, I ran them more gently than the 44 and 07E. I had the impression however, that they were ever so slightly less powerful than the older diodes at the same current, but unfortunately I didn't do any extensive testing.

They may well be similar, or the same diodes just repackaged. Ie an 08/06 and an 07E retrofitted with a can. Personally I'd stick with the 44 for a 450 and perhaps the N465, if you want to pay extra, because the diode is protected from the elements (O2 and H2O), which could lead to degradation over time.

I actually just built a Sinner Cypreus IIIB with an 07E, but left the lens on exactly for this reason! I will use it with a Jet lasers 10x beam expander, so its not actually that bad that the output is more square than bar shaped in this instance. ;) Running at 4.2 A its a beautiful blue/cyan and outputs 5.5 W. As we discovered it lights fireworks in an instant and was very useful at new years in the wind and rain!

Edit: As Paul just mentioned the difference is very clear between 450 and 465. The 450 will look closer to purple next to a 465. At new years I ran my old Saik 9mm 445 @ 3 W next to the 07E and it looked like a 405! The difference was clear as day.

Edit 2: @ GSS I might do a build thread with some pics if I find some time this weekend. If I do, Ill add some pictures for you of the 07E vs my old Saik 445 and compare these to a 16x 405. Unfortunately Ive sold all of my 44's...

I bought a bunch of 05/06 diodes at auction and the 25% with good spot size straight out of the factory GBall I use with a 3X beam expander leaving the GBall in place and they are strong burners and have held up well.

If anybody like to see the beams of a n450 (left, 4amps) n465 (right 4amps) their on my avator, with a 7475 in the middle. Both are quite impressive.

The one on the right looks like the line is vertical and on the left it looks to be horizontal, but all in all the divergence appears to be in the 7A75/7K75 range, is that about right ?

Here is DTR's image of the N-450, although the N-450 diode has been out of stock for some time now the N-465 is in stock but is around 4.25 watts at the recommended 3.5 amps and costs 130.00 for the bare diode, a little more than the NUBM07 but will it outlast the 07?

I would expect so as my luck with de-canned 07 diodes has been bad, so if someone wants this wavelength maybe this is a better choice, if it had NDB7875/NDG7475 divergence I would buy it in a heartbeat and outfit it with a G2 and 3XBE, but I expect the divergence is much like the 7A75 or do you think it's better?

I know a de-canned NUBM07 is much like a 7A75/7K75 as far as divergence, is that about what you see?

Oh yeah that's a noticeable difference in color:)
These 3 new N diodes, does any body know if they came from the same projector?

Edit: Grainde, I just saw your edit and planned build and nice info:):)
