As far as the match lighting goes... curious have you only tried one type of matches or only from one match-book ?
For I have found out, that not all matches are created equally..some of them are downright stubborn, even some black-tippeds I have come across, making me think something was wrong, until I tried another batch of matches.
>found some OLD ones from a wedding 10+years ago, things went up the second the beam touched them, that with a 100mW red and a 70mW green, so your 105 ought to easily ignite matches, just make sure they arent the stubborn ones, leave them for the company that smokes ;P
