My Razer Naga Mouse!

Okay,

So in one of my beamshots Eudaimonium noticed my Razer Naga, so I told him I would post some pics of it to show sort of how it fits the hand and whatnot.

So, here we go. First off I want to say that this has got to be my favorite mouse on the face of the planet. It is sleek, elegant, and yet highly functional. You might think the number pad on the side takes awhile to get used to, but in actuality it is a very easy transition.

Now, for pics.

As you can see, it fits the hand very comfortably and is not overly large whatsoever. Even though I don't play MMORPGs anymore, I still use this mouse. I'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone at all.

While it's cool, I highly doubt you actually use all of those buttons.

From Razer, the Mamba is really attractive/comfortable, but personally I just couldn't swallow the price tag.

Currently using Logitec G500 mice, both at home, and at work. Also using mx518 with my laptop.

I use MX518 too! Fits me perfectly! Just got a set of fresh teflon feet - now it's like new again!

But I only have two thumb controls and one more if you use some cracked software, which might be too few for some games.

Today when you've got ton of equipement in games, it's much faster to switch between various inventory items with a dozen key right under your thumb, than all over the damned keyboard.

Now I´m using the Logitech MX Performance and I´m fully happy with it

@Things: Thats what I use it for now....every once in awhile when I'm super bored I hop on minecraft and mess around, and it is very handy.

@InfinitusEquitas: While I don't use them all anymore, when I played WoW I had each and every once of them bound to a different spell so I could do almost my entire combat roation without using any hotkeys on the keyboard.

Second, I think I'd hate working with it. My default grip is some sort of weird palm/claw style hybrid and so far MX518 (and similar G5/G7 shells) fits me best.

It's why I was asking about Naga, it might seem like I could game with it, but I'm not sure yet. I think it'd be the best option if I could try it out at friend's place somewhere before committing.

The definition of "beauty" is not set in stone MX518 looks to me as if someone chewed it and spit it out (I actually used G5 before). Although wired mice are supposedly good for gaming, having to deal with an extra wire is not fun. They also tend to twist and brake, and I can't throw it in frustration when loosing to a cheating AI in supcom, it'll probably take a usb port with it on the go

Both palm style and claw style grips are well defined and neither are proven to have any sort of consequences. So I guess that Carpal can go suck it.

I very much prefer the G5 and MX518 to it, and best design visually yet, appears the Cyber R.A.T. series and the newest Razer Ouroboros:

Looks brutally high tech, which I like. Not sure of other brands that have models of similar designs, though.

OMG that new Razer Mouse you linked looks like something straight out of Tron....I feel like it should come with a free Deadmau5 CD hahaha

EDIT: to the naysayers of corded mice: Note in the pics I posted that the cord is actually a fabric cable, highly flexible and supple. If this cord gets brittle and snaps or breaks it is because some ahole put liquid nitrogen on it and hit it with a hammer. Also, if you are throwing your expensive mice around the room send me some money, you clearly have too much of it

Man, I hope you are not taking that too seriously, my statements were intended to be rhetorical In any case, since I am not playing much these days simple mice suffice.

I was actually thinking of getting that apple trackpad thing a while ago for general use. But since I use linux 99% of the time did not want to mess with configurations for it.

I suspect given the nature of work being done by so many people now, with mice/keyboards, the occurrence carpal tunnel will skyrocket.

That said though, surgical treatment, as long as the problem is not too far gone, is actually rather effective, and the surgery itself is relatively simple, same day procedure.

As for corded vs wireless, I really don't get the problem. For me, on my desks, the mouse tends to inhabit a roughly 12x12 inch area 99.999% of the time, and there is more than enough slack on the cable, the rest be hanging behind my desk out of the way. I never had a mouse wire break, or fray, if you do I suspect you're doing something you're not supposed to.

For the rageaholics a note though... I have slammed my mice down against the desk VERY hard. It's how I broke one of my microsoft mice The logitecs have been through more abuse, and are still going strong.

Don't worry Gillza, I'm not taking anything seriously, it's just that I believe I expressed myself wrong (given your statement), so I wanted to correct myself.

Regaring mice cords, the only mouse so far in my experience has HORRIBLE cord - Razer Abyssus. Mouse itself is epic, it's a pure claw-style grip which I can get used to really fast, it's brutally light (like, 40 grams), accurate too. But it's cord is from some retarded plastic that, as far as I can see, exibits "fatigue" warps like metal.

If you roll up your cord in a hurry, next time it's going to be horrible. If you leave the cord hanging straight down, it won't straighten out, it just stays horribly warped... like I said, it's like metal fatigue. I don't have a better expression to describe it.

Logitech cords on the other hand seem to be immune to warping. I pack up my Logitech MX518 into my cramped up laptop bag twice a week (trip home, trip back), and if you lift up your mouse, the cord will hang straight down like it's freshly outpacked.

I do not know of any "good" wireless keyboard, sorry. I have no need for such, I'm perfectly happy with cheap but slim-profile keyboards for all my needs.

That's my achilles heel... absolutely can't stand to use shitty keyboards. I love my mechanical ones

The fabric cords on the g500's is damn near indestructible imo... before I put cables behind the desk, I did roll over it a few times with my chair... only downside, is on thicker cables (not on mice) it's kind of stiff.
