Got an email from him last night saying his "destructive" testing of the new coil is promising. He hasn't managed to get it to blow up yet :D

It will actually stretch another 5cm or so but it sounds choppy when used for audio. No breakout, that zvs unit is basically a solid state HF doubled MOT in terms of output; ~5kV 300mA. Lethal as hell.

That's on 24V anyway. It can be run on 36v as well but I've never done it. I like to keep my toys in good working order.

I have a class-e flyback driver as well which will do 40kV @ about 5mA with PWM based audio modulation. Again no breakout as it is just a DC flyback. I'd love to get my hands on an AC unit.
