A while back when recovering early on from my surgery I posted my Star Trek Classic Phaser Green mod build that I worked and completed 2 weeks after the surgery http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/n...hus-far-star-trek-green-phaser-mod-89127.html
The other 3 builds that I did while out on short term disability were these 3 little gems:
The first is my 405nm 670mW stable laser (DTR 12X S06J Bluray Diode In Copper Module W/Driver set to 450mA & 405-G-2 Glass Lens) in a Survival Laser Stainless Steel Host Assembly, Extended Heat Sink & Violet anodized extended length focus ring. I also needed to get Survival Laser's battery contact pill.
Assembly was relatively easy except for getting the battery contact pill into the housing which was very tight.
The next is my 638nm 670mW stable laser in the same host as the 405nm but the module is the Oclaro 700mW 638 Diode In Copper Module W/Flexdrive set to 850mA & G-2 Glass Lens
I love the beam of this one very much. I havent shined it in the sky but have gotten a nice shot at a palm tree at least a quater mile away at night!
The last but certainly not least is my 520nm 180mW in one of Flaminpyro's very cool SH-032 host which is similar to the Survival laser host except it doesn't use a pill and just has an extended heatsink with battery contact board on the end of it! The DTR module is the 520nm Osram PLP520-B1 Diode In Copper Module W/Driver & G-2 Lens and for a focus adapter one of Flamingpyro's extremely cool Hydra focus ring:
With this build I finally remembered to start taking picks while assembling:
(This pic was taken just before I straightened out the shrink tube and then shrank it.)
(This pic is actually one of Flamingpyro's which shows the heatsink & battery contact completed)
This one is very cool in that the beam has good visibility in a moderately lit room and not just darkness!
All three as i put have G-2 lenses on them but I have purchased 3-element lenses for the 405nm & 638nm plus a 2-element for the 520 and will get focus rings for these from Flamingpyro when he can fit me in.
My next build thread will be on my recently finished Star Trek Next Generation Phaser Red Mod with 10 segment led display!
(Yup put a key switch on this one!)
