Nice looking Laser build...

BTW...Your Laser Safety Googles are
far from adequate for use with that
Laser.

Hi,
Nice show but yes you need the adequate safety glasses, Also if you going the sell as stated move this thread to the Buy,Sell and Trade section of the forum. If it was a general build thread it would be ok here. Or the other WL sections . Any way a great build kudos.. oh on a side note where are you from in the states or other. Add to your Avatar.

He's in the UK, Rich. I don't know where he got the glasses, but I suspect they aren't even laser goggles. Taking a whopping chance pointing it at glass with those glasses.

They look like those cheap ebay laser glasses, the problem is they may not be very effective at 450nm, you really need to see the graph that shows the OD across the advertised range.

These are my eagle pair OD+5 from Survival Lasers.

Neet build, bet that was some fun! Would save you the price of a bottle opener. Just curious, what are you asking for it. Not really interested, just being nosey. :)

That's a nice build but I don't think that breadboard will hold up very long at those currents. I'd solder up the regulators ASAP.

Funny Rachel hasn't responded yet...
Those glasses in the video look like these
ones I found on eBay...

200-2000nm Laser Protection Goggles IPL-2 OD+4D Green Safety Protective Glasses | eBay

The ratings make no sense 200nm to 2000nm
I Highly doubt it. I might trust them with a
<10mW Laser in the Red to IR range.

Jerry
I got basicly the same pair at for a bid of $1.24 minus the case.
www.ebay.com./itm/-/302389015839?
They were rated at 190nm to 450nm and are a very dark green like your link.
520 to 532 passes right through and as well as my $1 cat toy keychain red laser:rolleyes:
Burn test of 2W+ M140 wasn't to bad and at 60 seconds when I stopped there was no burn through.
They are so dark though that visibility is aweful, and I can see a neewbie taking them off for a split second for the sake of seeing something burn:undecided:
Why would someone use these for a 50W unit I don't know??
There are some Eagles that have have the exact same look that I saw listed but can't be sure if they are counterfit? NO markings that I can see on the arms..
www.ebay.com/itm/EP-6-2940nm-OD4-Er-YAG-Laser-Protective-Goggles-Saftey-Glasses-CE/121057314783?
Realize these are 2940nm units but would "Eagle" even use these ebay style hosts? Iv'e seen them also for the 190nm to 540nm range..
