Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd share the results of my first completed build.

The host is a Trustfire TR-801, the Diode module comes from DTR and is a m140 with modded 1.5A boost driver and 405-G-2 lens. (Thanks DTR)

Yeah... the module is out of the host... long story but driver is too long for the cavity in the pill...

So... the heatsink is half way down the casing, but I sealed up the driver and packed the casing with thermal compound so it stays pretty cool... by that I mean it was running for about 3 mins and didn't get above room temp.

Here are some pics :D

Good first shot at a build in 445nm!
Oof I'd be a little concerned about the diode though, what with the module sticking out like that with only the module for heatsinking...
Regardless, good job

Yeah, I am too... so I'm going to stack a bunch of our $2 coins together and drill them out to fit the module, then lock them in place with a custom focusing ring... (our $2 coins are 92% copper!!!)

nice man! i didnt know that about our coins too :D

are you using this driver:

Hey Fiddy!!!

Nah, I am using a modded 1.5A Boost from DTR. And yeah... our Gold coins are pretty awesome... The silver ones are around 65% copper too!!!

I could make it fit into the pill, but I'd have to drill a 12.5mm hole in the centre of it and my cordless drill just dinnay have the power to drill that Captain!!! So... Until I have a power drill it ain't happening.

good job on yer first build! the end of that module doesn't get too warm? adding more sinking is a good idea, more copper!
