the "dot" is also not centered in the galaxy

does it need cleaning or is it suppose to do that?
if it does need cleaning how would I clean it?
would i need to take the cap off?

here is a photo of the galaxy (I no idea how to photograph lasers but i gave it my best shot)

thank you for your help

I try not to use just a q-tip on acrylics. I usually wrap a thin microfiber cloth around the end of the q-tip. Then whatever solvent you want to use (lens cleaner, alcohol) First lightly dipped in the solvent, then use a dry part of the cloth.

Edit: Can you get to the actual lens or do you just have a tiny opening to work with. That makes the situation different.

^^^On the cutie, it takes some effort, but with care he can get to the lens itself.

That's kind of the reason why i recommended the compressed air... no disassembly required:)

Btw, I do the same thing... thing microfiber cloth used for cleaning glasses, dipped in 90% alcohol, to try i use compressed air.

When I read the title I was expecting to see his 50 year old cute girl friend with a big butt

acetone will ruin an acrylic lens. ignore that guys advice, if your lens is acrylic. actually i wouldnt use acetone at all. i use it a lot at work and it always seems to dry hazy.

Wow, that was kind of mean. There was another question dealing with glass lenses, acetone slipped. You could have just corrected me. Edited my post....

Don't take things personal no one is trying to be mean just give the correct advice :yh:

Gotcha. And I only said acetone because someone else more knowledgeable than myself suggested it. Personally I wouldn't either and I shouldn't suggest it if I wouldn't use it :)

(unless it's to take superglue residue off of a glass lens, then I'd probably use it and then use alcohol. But you shouldn't use superglue around lenses anyways)

Yep super glue will fog up glass if it's even close by.
I use removable thread lock if I want to set a lens in a focus ring.
