MX900/35mm DTR 9mm Heat Sink

Hu Folks,
Ok VV said that a 1-3/4 washer would hold the 35mmDTR sink in the MX900 host and it did with some trimming of the washer Dia. He used a steel washer and as Red said it's a shame to hide the CU finish of the sink. Well i went on a hunt and bagged CU 1-3/4 flat washers at 1/6th thick and they work like a charm and they polish up nice on my buffing wheel with some rouge. Check it out This puppy is going to handle some serious heat displacement . 3 for .99 cent plus shipping and he sent me one more for free nice!!! Her are some quick pics i threw together after work today i couldn't wait.

A trick I use is to center my round work piece and use a drill to spin it against sand paper, moving it back and forth to get a perfectly round reduction.

Hi Red,
i knew you would chime in sooner or later, the way i did it was i placed a round AL rod in the center and held it in place with two pieces of 1/4in. pvc and let it spin until i achieved the desired Dia. quick and easy. The pic of me holding the washer was just for illustration on reducing the outer Dia. Man these washers are nice and perfect thickness for this mod..And they polish up nice

Nice Rich, just recieved my washers today. I'm think I may cut a starburst or someother design in mine. Gonna think on it a bit. Lots of other projects right now. Great looking job.

I knew it wouldn't take you long these washers are only1/6 thick perfect for this build. Hey use an engraver for the design and a stencil with some machine dye.

Yeah I found them but thanks. Actually ordered 5 sets so if he runs out and someone really needs one let me know. Couldn't help it as they seemed difficult to find.
Again, it's nice to see there are still members who will share their findings whether it's a different way of building or pieces parts. I don't like how some want to keep to themselves and won't share.
Not cool when so many others share everything. We've got to come back stronger from all the garbage over the last 6 months. I really don't want to start over with a different hobby at this point.

Yes when i seen these CU washers 1/6th thickens i said great, As VV said with his steel washers you would have to trim the bottom of the sink at a 45 degree angle to fit the bezel on. Well thinking i figure if the washer was thinner we wouldn't have to hack uptake CU sink, it worked perfectly . Ill might be build it tonight if i have some time. Yes sharing is cool with new ideas, it makes it easier and more feasible for all..

Hi Rich,
You may actually have to trim your module like I did. When you press the diode in, the back doesn't screw down as far as it did before because it presses on the back of the diode
