I went to get new tires at a common tire company in the us... I had my 4w laser in the car... magically disappeared.. (, please note I ripped the car apart and pulled out the carpet etc... also it was in my trunk before and after I changed the spare.. joined here to learn more and replace it possibily with a more powerful one

Thas just sad that a company would allow an employee to steal something and not make any effort to get the item back.

I'd be raising hell with whoever the manager is! I'd want reimbursed or my item back UNLESS they made you sign a waiver regarding items in the car.

I'd love to build something special they would steal with a remote RF receiver in it to turn on some flare powder to cause it to burst into flames, see how they like that.

That would be great - but I do not believe that the bomb squad would like it. :tsk:

Unfortunately, you can run into crappy people wherever you go. A lot of automotive placed have signs posted that say "any valuables that are left in the vehicle is not the companies responsibility".
When I worked in the service department of a car dealership, they had that sign there.
At one point we were getting complaints from customers of spare change and stuff like that missing out of their car. It took a couple of months, but when we though that we knew who it was, we set up a car with some change in the cup holder, and sent the supposed thief with the car to get it washed. Told him to stay with it, as the customer was waiting. When it came back the change was gone. That guy was fired on the spot!
Most places will investigate into issues like this, if it seems to be a reoccurring problem.

Ya, I shouldn't write such, someone might do it. I fantasize such things, but doing it isn't recommended for anyone, either for the welfare of the thief or yourself, you would be more likely to end up in jail than they would doing that, a whole building could burn and lives lost, but you can buy synthetic skunk oil and maybe figure a way to cause it to break open remotely with a small wifi receiver and plunger inside :p I had a iPhone stolen once, started me thinking about the fake iPhones you can get with enough room inside to build something like that, then just bait a thief to take it and next hear them yelling about the smell.

That isn't so bad, but I suppose even that would be illegal.

Yes that is upsetting I can imagine. I'm thinking though if the person realizes that it's a laser and maby thinking a flashlight.
This has the potential for something bad to happen.

Hi Thats bad and he will have bad Karma coming for his theft. well i think that it won't las long as for he would windup running it for a long duty not knowing the facts involved with heat transfer . And it will be short lived and fry the diode, give this a thought if would be funny if it did happen he would come here to LPF to get it fixed or looked at and you can snag him cold, that would be awesome if that happened . Let me know what your looking for i might have something here for you to purchase if you like.

HaHaHaHaHa:crackup:

Haha this one I bought from China.. cheap lenses etc.. I've had it for awhile. It was actually pretty solid.. I also called corporate.. my friend used to work there.. the place is run by kids.. they used to take whatever they wanted.

It was a 445 blue 4w... looked like the Thor laser host but it was a custom build.. once I have enough posts I'll see if someone on here has something for sale or would do a custom build

Luckily they did not have that sign in store

Hi 666,
Sometimes custom host made here in the States are way cooler than the stuff overseas . i see your a newer member so if you go to the buy, sell , trade section yo may find some unique hosts and builds that some of the former merchants built for sale. Or even modded flash lights and pens, broaden your horizons think outside the box.. There are a multitude of other options that are cool and unique my friend... hope you find what your looking for..
