Mode hopping x-65, with pics inside.

Well i just got my x-65 and it seems that it mode hops.  When i was shining it thru a lense to make it bigger i noticed it.  Right when it comes on its clearly 2 seperate dots then it forms one and flashes into various different dot sizes and shapes then goes to normal but then it slowly goes into almost a square dot and losses all its burning power.  I first noticed when i was etching plastic, it was going great and i was moving it over the plastic at the same speed when suddenly it looked like it had gotten longer and it wouldnt etch the plastic anymore.

So my question is do you think i should return it to get it fixed?, its still in the first month of warenty.
Also will they upgrade it to an x-75 for free since they dont have the x-65 anymore?

Also on average how long does it take from shipping until its back at my house, i live in the u.s.

Hate to tell you this :'( but yes, I think you should send it back and hope for an upgrade. Part of the turn around time depends on how fast you get it to them. Also if you can, provide them with pictures... and be descriptive about exactly what is happening when you e-mail them and request a RMA.

Well i guess i will, at least i have another laser that will pop baloons to keep me entertained. Ill take some photos of the diferant "patterns" its makes, luckly its worse then what they say is acceptable so im almost positive they will fix it, you can see the dark line inbetween the 2 dots seperating them.

I sure hope it will get upgraded i think it almost has to be since they cant fix and and they have to replace it with an x-75 cause they dont carry the x-65 anymore.

Yup, this is not fixable on their end so they will just replace it and I would think they will upgrade you. Hoping for the best

Here are some pics.

Right when i turn it on it does this for about 3 sec.

Then it does this for about 30sec, the dot changes shape and small projections sometimes come out of it. Every once and awhile it will even turn to a square.

Then most of the time after 30-40 seconds after the previous dot it will change into this and stay until it is turned off.

Wow, they responed fast, i sent the e-mail on saturday and they responed like the first thing today.

They also sounded really nice, thanking me for explaining the problem througly and stuff.

Now i just need to wait for them to respond on what to put on the salesorder #, since i dont have the paper with it on there.
