Thanks! Yeah, I seem to have a knack at getting my hands on them, ha.

It's so nice to just have a high powered yellow though. Really makes the 594 look orange too.

The pic shows the main spot as more of a 594.

I wouldn't know about 594nm... yet! I'll get my friends to buy it for me as a college gift down the road

I've got one....with my last name engraved in it. Personal gift.

Back to work.

Going to try mostly closing the shudder and seeing what that will get me. Hopefully I can get rid of some of the light distortion and get a better color representation. Pics up later tonight.

So I tested mine and got nothing :( I'll have to try it on a "colder" start, but I don't think I'll get much.

The older models probably won't want to produce these as much. I only got 532nm to show up for a second or two and I saw a second green (slightly yellower) flicker in and out, never showing ever again.

Closing the shudder did nothing. Still looks like 3 lemon colored dots. However, enjoy!

And those are shots after the grating?

Could we see a reference photo of the dot before the grating?

That would help distinguish the images above from being a misalignment in the laser.

I can do that, but keep in mind my 2 options are flooding my camera with light with a full blast 120mW 589 output, or using the shutter so there will be 2 streaks. So keep in mind those streaks are not part of the laser output.

I'll have pics up after work :)

If you have a mirror 120mW should be enough to have a reasonable amount of light pass through without distorting the spot.

:bumpit:

Got myself a diffraction grating. I only get 532nm when it's FRIGID, but I managed to get the same two lines bloom gets. Anyone else with a 589 that can replicate this?

I'll attempt to get a picture.

Edit: I'm getting more than the normal. I think there's 593.5nm sitting in with this too! I'm getting two spots to the right and one spot to the left of the main 589nm spot.
