Mitsubishi 500mw 638nm diodes

Hmm... I'm really liking the fact that they give you info for pulse mode. I might set something up to try this. 50Hz at 33% Duty cycle seems well within the realm of an Arduino. We might just have a 1W hand held red!

I like the fact that it's showing that "underpowering" it a 500mA and 1.9V can reduce the wavelength down to 632nm, which having a lower mW/mA ratio, could actually mean it could look brighter than higher powers.

Urm... Why arduino? A simple 555 in PWM setup would be cheaper, and even possible to stuff in a handheld.

Yeah the link isn't working anymore maybe they are sold out because it doesn't come up on their site anymore.

Hopefully they didn't have limited quantities :cryyy:

that was me :)

i saw the links down again now too...somethings up says I.

Nice! Glad to know I wasn't going crazy:tinfoil:

Well, rayfoss also pulled theirs after they were up for a brief time.... maybe o-like discovered the same problem:undecided:

Really can't wait to see 1W of red in a handheld though:eg:

Im not holding my breath to see if these diodes get sent out or not, place your bets anyone?

Mainly cause I have never worked with a 555, but I'll be willing to give it a go.

you can get the Arduino SMD chip which is tiny and put it on a driver board... that was my idea. But I think its about time I use my 555 sitting here.

I just got an email from Susie from O-Like and she said they will be back in stock in 1 to 2 weeks.
