So I thought I'd give a bit of time to my lathe, as one does, and started going at this piece of scrap stock. I had the idea of making a very small laser host out of it, here's how it turned out:
Excuse the rough edges, I didn't put in the effort to fix it up quite yet. But as of now the most critical thing I need to worry about is the fact that this thing doesn't have a tailcap yet, I threaded the host for one but when it came to actually making it I realized I didn't have any switches small enough for it. Here's the end of the host, it takes 1*10440 battery (AAA form factor), and a DTR module (Someone mentioned a while back ago that a 15/32" drill bit makes a perfect fit, and they were absolutely right. Thanks to whoever that was
):
Here's how small this guy really is:
Compared to 18650 battery
Measurements (mm):
Also forgot to capture it, but the handle measures an OD of 16mm
This is my first custom host, let me know what you think and tell me if you see something I can improve, I would appreciate it :thanks:
